I think I'm going to puke. Bet you guys wonder how we can stay in business farming in the Slum of the Ghetto. WOW, sometimes the less you hear the better off you are....no comparisons.

Jatharia supposed to be 2 days later but seemed to be 4-5 days later, scary. Titanium rated same maturity as Utmost.

Farma, not that we had any but, heard 100 bu Copland barley and 150 bu oats. Canola plots at 60bu.

Field scale canola in the 30's most are disappointed, swaths/stand looked like more.

Up here in the"sticks" we lucked out after late mudded in spring, and totally full subsoil, that the HEAT pushed crop and frost stayed away....without much rain

Similar to 2001, we grew a crop on subsoil, while south was dry, then 2002 we also dried out with very poor crop, 14 bu 40 lb barley.
        Will 2018 repeat ?

Was just thnking fj how lucky we are here . That was the worst seeding conditions in history on this farm ,bery late seeding, funny howthings come around !! Was lucky to not roll an ankle on lumps and knees were raw from crawling under drill , yet somehow it turned out real good

Ours would have been really good too, if firstly the wind wouldn't have blown the seed away and covered a lot up and secondly there was no rain so filling was hurt.

Well, it was what it was and gotta remember last year was a winner - almost. These are the hazards of the occupation. Most years you just tread water. of the 32 years that I remember, did we ever have a five-star, maybe a few like 80 busheo Glenlea, 50 bushel Estons and 60 bushel Canaryseed but they weren't that easy to get and they were once in a lifetime, thats why we still remember them.

So now what? Freeze thaw/cycle gonna fix that or cultivator? Not that drastic but I can still see combine tracks from last falls wet harvest on some no till fields.

When checking protein..shop around..took samples to RP and viterra this morning..same bags were at both places..protein was Higher on all samples at viterra.
                        13.2 on titanium..
The stuff we dried was 11.8..
                        So what ..heat screws protein?
