    Frosted last night

Minus 1.1 last night. There is not much it will hurt around here with the exception of one fellow who has late seeded canola.

Two nights mild frost here east of Edmonton with a more severe one forecast for tomorrow morning. About half the canola in swath the last couple of days with the other half needed a week before swathing stage. Wheat grading likely just got easier. Feed, feed and more feed.

Is the wht that late and hard enough frost thst it will take it down to feed? Has to be pretty bad and green.

80% of wheat is ripe with 20% patches of green in it. Doesn't take much to get some bran frost. If there is frost around that becomes grading factor #1. Green patches are in the soft dough stage right now.

Looks like quite a few frost pockets - many of them getting it for 10 hours reportedly.

But it is mid September so it's on par for this area

Funny thing environment Canada was calling for a low of 2* tonight but have now changed it to -1*. Been cloudy for four days and now clear skies. Canola is definitely getting crispy tonight although it's a pretty pathetic crop after swimming for June and baking since then.

Sure am glad I maxed out the crop insurance this year.
