From the pictures the sbu looks 40 to 50%. Still a pretty hot mix to put with the seed. Surprised that you didnt have more emergence issues. Did you preharvest the crop?

If you dig around it's more like 70%... However the seeds poke through the warmest area which is the bottom of the packer wheel trench. We used to run 5" sweeps now we run 10s with the spreader attachment on the boot... Need to get sbu up. Should also change to a square shoulder packing tire which would spread the seed out even more.

You're right it is a hot mix and I'm not sure it would work everywhere every year. Waiting to see what the other field does.

Hey Klausterphobia....what was the rain schedule. Maybe if our 2.8 inches over the growing season would have been more evenly distributed we could have had better results. Hot dry windy spring until the 9-14 of June when about 2.47 inches fell then hot dry and windy after that and .33 about August 4 which was basically too little too late for the crop staging. I am amazed it yeilded what it did...it was like a blast furnace down here in the Slum of the Ghetto.

But our inputs and methods were dramatically different from each others. Given all the differences its hard to make fair comparisons.

Edit....but congratulations on the results. ....I WISH!
