Protein discounts/premiums changing today.

If 15.5 pro is $1.30 premium, sell September/October 2018 2 CWRS 15.5. Odds are protein will be higher, as everyone will hammer the N to wheat b/c they didn't like the discounts this year. Only way for the spreads to go next year is narrower. When you deliver 13.5 pro next fall, if spreads are more historical, 5 cents a half for example, you get a 20 cent discount. Don't think every company will let you do it, some may have different spreads for new crop pricing, but it's worth looking into.

After looking on the Viterra website you will gain a total of a 5 cent premium for #1, 15.5 PRO vs #1, 13.5 PRO.

Good theory but it doesn't look like that plan will work at Viterra.
(Maybe other destinations but not there.)

Always remember who is in charge of setting the premiums and discounts AFTER the facts are known. Why should you carry that risk? Ask for premium and discount schedule that is binding on the contract you sign.....think you'll get it? What a stupid question...

......"probed" sample takes precedence, is better and more accurate. Damned if they'll take your word on a good overall representative farm sample....back to the CGC or an " independent" third-party analysis paid for by who?

Your own protien machine is only good for binning and getting idea of where it's at.

Best recommendation I have is divide a sample in 1/2 send 1 to CGC take the other 1/2 with you to elev and have them run it everytime you sell just to check thier machine. Then you know if you should be sending away.

CGC does not monìtor elev machines.
