What is it? A mix of yellow, brown, oriental mustard and canola...lol.

Why did he push it? How many growths? Guys that cut way too early here are beginning to see the canola flowering again....if there's a pile of green succulent leaves on the stem...it's too early to cut. Once leaves have dropped or wilting and hanging its a different story. There may always be some green leaves but you have to judge the whole field.

It was reseeded due to a shit seeding job, so a bit behind but nearly all one stage. The swathers opened it up then stopped early for the night. I thought they decided it was too green. I checked it out smooshed out between my fingers. Nope next day they had it all knocked down. I was going to say something but it was too late. Whats a section anyways peanuts to them.

Ya well what are you gonna do ? The custom combiners will be along shortly and you can’t expect them to sit around forever waiting for the crop to be ready .........right ?

I can never understand how guys can watch a crop grow all year only to swath a crop of canola to early. I'm gonna designate myself to do a trial of 0 seed color change, 50 % seed color change and straight cut. Stay tuned for next year agriville!

But does anyone remember last year ??
No excuse for what you claim , but how can you trust a long term forecast ??
Did anyone anywhere forecast that 1 foot of snow or more last year ? That stayed in some areas ? Nope !! Not even fukin close

It may have nothing to do with that , too green is to green but. ....
I hear you , many do on this BTO farming , karma has it's place.
Likely that shit will be combined and sold as a #1 somewhere. And that clown will say it ran 60 bus / ac ... its text book wana be .
Just smile and say , "that's nice " lol

did it this year , 4 days difference in swathing , early swathed was 4 lbs/bu lighter and a lot more dockage which was shriveled canola and quite a yield loss on monitor

We did it this year. About 20%vs 50%. Around 2bpa difference, checked with a weigh wagon.
I think it was about 3 days in between swathing

Interesting, we have seen about the same.
Best to cut er down 50-70 % if possible for sure .
We had to cut a late seeded canola field on the green side a few weeks ago .
It had a few frosts so not sure how it will turn out .
Be very similar to that reseed field up by your place saskshafe .
Thankfully we got lots to blend with if needed lol .
But looks like it may be a Halloween project
