I'm only using farm fuel in farm trucks on farm business - hauling supplies, hauling cattle - what's illegal about that? The blatant abuses of hauling kids to hockey on farm fuel was something I saw more in Alberta. Didn't just use trucks either - those PT cruisers were eligible for farm plates as they were capable of pulling a trailer.

Agriinvest, Agristability, 1/2 crop insurance premiums. Farm fuel tax breaks, You may not use any of those program, but most farmers have or still do.

Subsidizing farmers is a side issue. Safety net spending occurs in most provinces and at the federal level.
Check the books.

Corporate welfare is opposed by both left and right. But governments are caught between a rock and hard place. The 220% duty on C Series is a political decision. Boeing receives direct and indirect subsidies as well.

Harper played the game as well with Bombardier.

Governments buy votes with all kinds of programs.
