Did you prefer the S-790 Deere or the Claas 780? What is the difference in retail price. The biggest limitation in a combine most of the time is sieve capacity. What did you find held you back the most? Did you try a 10.9 New Holland?

No I’m not interested in the NH at all.
We’re working on a deal on three 780 Class and also in three S790.
The new Deere has lots of good points but so does the class. Case is up their also. It’s going to be based on service for us. Warranty. And the price.
But the main thing for us is one year back on the right side of Mother Nature doesn’t make me want to spend a fortune because who knows she might decide to show us again her fury next year. It’s canada and that bitch runs the show.

Guess the term "drought" can be interpreted in many ways.

You d never make a go if it Rd those poor soles get flooded out one year ok 7 years then bang its a total drought I mean frkn canola only running 50. Why would you want that kind of stress? And then to have the anguish of picking 4 new combines out in one year??? Holy man enough to drive a guy nuts for sure.

Only reason we had the crop we have is because of all the flooding I hated. So it dried up everything we have open fields again and if it rains enough to fill up our soil before spring we’re back finally back.
Worked last fall everything we could it was a dry winter and dry summer roots went down and yes it grew with min rain. I said we were extremely wet it finally paid off.

"Golden Triangle"....LOL, there's a joke in there.
I had to laugh when I saw that description because there's a guy here not far from edge of the Slum of the Ghetto that has five quarters in the shape of a horse shoe, I always tease him about the crops he grows in the Golden Horse Shoe. If he ever gets the one quarter that would give him a six quarter block I'd have to start calling it the Golden Rectangle... I like Golden Horse Shoe better.
Then he teases me about having some of the same land and I tell him, no we're a little further up the horse where the shit is. He says "bull shit"! I say no, "horse shit".
Sandbox farming in the Slum of the Ghetto...
Work and harvest safe folks... I know the pressure to get more off before the potential weather change is always there but be safe!

I would agree partners , there were many areas far worse off . Ask freewheat , or anyone just north of that area.
Not just a few acres here and there but entire farms swamped out . Much like the Meadow Lake area this year. Zero production on some 75% of the farms there .
And drought .... lol , he has no idea what so ever .
Glad you got a decent crop , but just try to remember, there are always , always worse areas . Sometimes by far S/f .
Good luck getting done ðŸ‘
