    Youth of today been reading........

Fallout from NZ election going from a economic powerhouse to god knows where?

It appears jacinda adern is basically a communist red as a summer sunset.

She promised lower cost housing free to some.

legalize pot and other "soft drugs"

Free education transport medical etc etc

    Cheap clean green energy.

Ok I'm a first time voter who am I gonna vote for?
The govt will look after you no matter what.

And she said shes gonna raise taxes to do all this.

One wonders were the reset button is.

Not sure of exact figures but the incumbent party actually won I think 56% of the vote but peculiarities of weird nz voting system second preference stuff saw her get in.

    Google it.

So the left get the youth and the right get middle aged onwards it seems.

And ive said it before as you now my travels in Canada found absolute zero jt supporters whilst in usa didn't find a single trump hater guess I was in wrong spots.

Well the Wedding had people from all over the place and your right if your a young Millennium and have a useless degree, free weed and really don't care to work their is time in the future your voting for JT. If your a middle aged or older worried about retirement and work hard to get ahead and make a buck. Your either a Conservative or pissed right off.

Were going to be a doomed country very soon because each generation that retires depends on new generation to continue working and adding to the economy. This is not done by Gov jobs and BS spending like we have now.

Flush is what is happening and the ones with Cash are leaving or have a plan B and its not in Canada.

" red as a summer sunset"

        LOL!! Thats funny!!

I have been working around some younger people this season. I am finally realizing my age. My observation is the younger generation "say" they want to do many things, and they find the methods online, which is easier than ever. BUT they only "do" just enough. They desire "down time" and time for themselves. When they need a convenient deflection in order to continue doing just enough, they claim there is just no time to do what they say.
They struggle to get to work at the same time everyday but they know when its time to get paid.
I do acknowledge that every generation doesnt understand the next one and we always think our future is doomed .
With the exception of some really strong work ethic 16-25 year old farm boys and girls around here, I have to agree with Klause.

With all the previous (excellent) points in mind, I raise a question that has burned in my mind - in this environment, what happens to kids that have been raised with not only a "really strong work ethic", but also strong, healthy life principles and morals?

They are the ones who will show up on the job on times, do an honest day's work, become successful, and thus the target for those who are content to slouch through life doing the bare minimum to get through.

I do not regret having raised our family to be strong, independent and of good character, but this question has lurked for a while.

Yup. By the time the baby boomers are all dead and gone it will be a scorched earth with all the wealth consumed and the survivors in Canuckistan will have the living standards of Haiti without the warm climate.

What happens? You loose a lot of friends. They get mad because you're always too busy working... Or have different ideals...

You get shunned in social circles...

Pretty much end up with only Aggie friends that understand the challenges and rewards of hard work.

Then you start talking about growing crops with fewer inputs, soil microbe populations and your circle will shrink again.🙂

She's gonna find out what a housing crash is all about. She just closed the door on foreign ownership of property.

Is the end game to crash/lower housing prices and land ownership in order for locals to be able to afford ownership for themselves? The socialist concept?
Is NZ like Canada where there are home equity loans ? Severely drop the house values, call in those home equity loans and bankrupt locals instead of empower them?

I'm too old and never went to university. But had a 35 yr old neighbor with a blue collar raising and a proffesional job tell me he cant believe the people off the bus out of university today.
Never had a job in their lives until after graduation and no idea what to do on one.
Whatever, but shouldn't we look at the parents first?

                              Legit question Burnt
all depends on how you define success, i suppose.
If success is defined in financial terms, those who are most successful are usually the ones that have access to capital, good connections in business or politics and an education.
knowing how to kiss ass also helps.
a lot of people would rather work their own asses off and live modestly, rather than kiss someones else's and live a life of privilege
