Finished baling the other day and only got a couple thousand left to bring home. Last year we were baling in the middle of December so this is an improvement. I've been on the night shift keeping the dryer humming and moving grain around. Nothing like the smell of wheat roasting under the northern lights.

Down to 25% left and the neighbourhood is about the same with most of it canola. Ours is testing 15-17% moisture and about the same for greens. Just drug home a little vertec 3630 from a friend that I pestered about selling it since they bought a new GT batch dryer. Hasn't run in 7 years so needs some tlc.

At least the critters are doing good and looking forward to dining on the tough hay that I baled before the last rain. Pasture is done for the year anyways.

That's a beautiful picture Woodland. Everything looks so thick and lush, must be delicious for your fuzzy friends. Good luck with the new dryer🍀

Woodland you're describing the tough as nails character of a farm family! Many would have folded long ago given the weather you ve had there.
Best of luck going forward!! Amazing!!

The best part of the pictures is my wife is raking in the distance in the hayfield and my kids are with us when we went feeding after they finished their morning of play school. 😉

Got a new fan motor, new belts, new bearings picked up, and the burner installed so maybe later today we might test fire it to see if it works. Probably got 20 hours of drying left for the barley after we fix a u joint on the old mc dryer.

Big wheel we all must be tough and slightly crazy/ delusional to be doing what we do. Trying to grow a crop and or raise animals in an area that has snow for as many days as without. Today dad plugged the combine and the canola swath is like silage at the bottom. We just opened the the concave and sped up the cylinder and we'll get the easy threshing stuff and the rest is organic matter. 😉

Past the point of caring anymore and don't need more wet stuff in the tank anyways.
