Incorporated small businesses that probably don't go over the $500K net income versus Large business or family trusts with money offshore or businesses registered off shore.....I fail to see the similarities.

By the way...Incorporation is only a tax deferral and unless you are a complete fraud.....the Gov gets their share later than sooner because the money is supposed to be all accounted for.

I'm not even going to comment on these old family traditions.
And what has changed since that story was written? It's only continued or gotten worse.
A couple of weeks ago, Andrew Coyne had an article in the NP - "Morneau can't solve the tax problem because he IS the problem".
Bingo.
Oh, BTW, this story should reassure us that all will be accounted for because the CRA tells us that the real tax cheats will be exposed -

In the climate change thread, we discussed the double standard that the governing elite impose on the rest of society regarding the qualifications required to be a climate change expert. This is more of the same double standard from the same entitled elite, claim farmers and small businesses are all tax cheats, meanwhile they are doing this?

Offshore trusts are there for the express purpose to not pay any Canadian tax. It is legal if tax paid money is moved into them, which clearly isn't happening.
I gather you are an old socialist. Not any better informed than these millennial socialists.Last edited by LEP; Nov 6, 2017, 07:01.

Similar to we were not supposed to find out about out climate alarmist minister purchasing 5 luxury cars for "emission testing" and keeping the cars for a year and a half!! The car manufacturers would of supplied all 3rd party testing information for free!

I am not calling anyone a cheat all I'm saying is those that can afford to ude all the tax advantages use them. Why would anyone bother to incorporate and pay accounting fees and audit plus the cost to set up and again if you resolve if there is no advantage to incorporating.
I think you are all jealous of those with more money and able to use the system. Less than 1% use tax havens, somewhere around 12% use inch , that leaves 77% Joe six pack that can't use any of the perks of the wealthy. I could list some of the perks incs use but you all know where you stretch the lines. How many personal corps, or professional corps,I don't think they relay fit the bill for small business
