Impact of the sun on climate

It shows the power of corrupt politicians with their own agenda and the masses are too stupid to realize it. This guy seems credible because he uses actual science and not fear tactics. Everyone knows the climate changes but it's nice to hear the truth and not the bullshit. Good documentary.

I find it difficult to fully agree with both sides of the Global warming and now Global cooling debate.

Does it really matter, farmers need to adapt to what ever conditions we are faced with.

Weather is a big challenge as well as government policy.

How do you make a decision on who is right?

      Does it really matter?

        https://www.skepticalscience.com/solar-activity-sunspots-global-warming.htm

        Climate Myth...

        It's the sun
"Over the past few hundred years, there has been a steady increase in the numbers of sunspots, at the time when the Earth has been getting warmer. The data suggests solar activity is influencing the global climate causing the world to get warmer." (BBC)

Over the last 35 years the sun has shown a cooling trend. However global temperatures continue to increase. If the sun's energy is decreasing while the Earth is warming, then the sun can't be the main control of the temperature.

Figure 1 shows the trend in global temperature compared to changes in the amount of solar energy that hits the Earth. The sun's energy fluctuates on a cycle that's about 11 years long. The energy changes by about 0.1% on each cycle. If the Earth's temperature was controlled mainly by the sun, then it should have cooled between 2000 and 2008.

The solar fluctuations since 1870 have contributed a maximum of 0.1 °C to temperature changes. In recent times the biggest solar fluctuation happened around 1960. But the fastest global warming started in 1980.

Figure 2 Global surface temperature anomalies from 1870 to 2010, and the natural (solar, volcanic, and internal) and anthropogenic factors that influence them. (a) Global surface temperature record (1870–2010) relative to the average global surface temperature for 1961–1990 (black line). A model of global surface temperature change (a: red line) produced using the sum of the impacts on temperature of natural (b, c, d) and anthropogenic factors (e). (b) Estimated temperature response to solar forcing. (c) Estimated temperature response to volcanic eruptions. (d) Estimated temperature variability due to internal variability, here related to the El Niño-Southern Oscillation. (e) Estimated temperature response to anthropogenic forcing, consisting of a warming component from greenhouse gases, and a cooling component from most aerosols. (IPCC AR5, Chap 5)

Some people try to blame the sun for the current rise in temperatures by cherry picking the data. They only show data from periods when sun and climate data track together. They draw a false conclusion by ignoring the last few decades when the data shows the opposite result.

          https://www.skepticalscience.com/global-cooling.htm

          Climate Myth...

          It's cooling
"In fact global warming has stopped and a cooling is beginning. No climate model has predicted a cooling of the Earth – quite the contrary. And this means that the projections of future climate are unreliable." (source: Henrik Svensmark)

When looking for evidence of global warming, there are many different indicators that we should look for. Whilst it's natural to start with air temperatures, a more thorough examination should be as inclusive as possible; snow cover, ice melt, air temperatures over land and sea, even the sea temperatures themselves. The key indicators of global warming shown below are all moving in the direction expected of a warming globe.

Indicators of a warming world based on surface, satellite, and ocean temperature measurements, satellite measurements of energy imbalance (the difference between incoming and outgoing energy at the top of the atmosphere), and of receding glaciers, sea ice, and ice sheets, rising sea level, and shifting seasons.

The question of global warming stopping is often raised in the light of a recent weather event - a big snowfall or drought breaking rain. Global warming is entirely compatible with these events; after all they are just weather. For climate change, it is the long term trends that are important; measured over decades or more, and those long term trends show that the globe is still, unfortunately, warming.

Climate will change whether it warms up or cools off either way it will be catastrophic.what pisses me off is politicians stealing our money under the guise of protecting us from ourselves. On a side note I saw a pic of the leaders at the apec summit it showed them all standing there and there was trudope with his blue suit and no shoes or socks on. This ****in guy has lost his mind.

As an open minded, logical, scientifically educated individual who makes all decisions based on evidence as opposed to emotion, I have my line in the sand on this issue. That line is the natural climate cycles resulting from the sun. If we were to see real measurable warming, at the same time as the cycles indicate we should be cooling, then I will switch sides and be a believer in the Anthropogenic portion of global warming. Convincing me of the Catastrophic (net) results of said warming would be a much bigger challenge. As would convincing me that more socialist government is the solution.

Why throw out the science that proves human caused climate change but put your faith in the rest of science? You need to to ask a current climate scientist about the science. They will explain it to you in more depth that what I posted about the sun above..

I have found that most AGW fanatics don't have a very wide depth of knowledge about the science.

For instance Chunky is using SCEPTICAL SCIENCE again as his 'go to' guy for AGW authority.

Just so readers here know, that would be the web site ran by John Cook.

                      THIS John Cook.

No fcuking wonder there is so many stupid people supporting AGW.

                      Follow the money.

If you think of all the blacktop, rooftops, building anything man made flat and dark surfaced (likely solar panels too) it all soaks up the sun and gives back way more radiant heat to the environment than natural grass or bush. Why does nobody ever talk about that or putting a stop to urban sprawl. On a warm summer day you can see the heat waves coming off the highways.

Not to mention that all of those flat dark surfaces are made of oil, and/or required copious amounts of oil to produce them. Eliminating the internal combustion engine will not make those uses go away.

                            There you have it folks!

The sun has been proven to have no effect on climate.

                            Move along now.

                            There is no dispute here.

                            It's all been explained.

Only a knuckle dragging western neanderthal would question ABSOLUTE facts.

In Maui pretty well every building has solar collectors on the roofs - both commercial buildings and private homes. Solar heats their water, but the sun shines pretty much every day and there's no snow or frost to cover the collectors. They still need diesel generators and you can see fuel trucks hauling diesel to the generator (visual assumption).
