    Vegas trip advice?

My wife and I are heading to Las Vegas in a couple of weeks for 4 days. I have not been there in 20 years, so know a lot has changed. We are staying at the Paris Las Vegas hotel.

Any tips from you agriville vegas experts? What do you do when visiting LV, other than gamble?

I might try to get some hockey tickets for the nhl team.

Don't ever take a bus tour to see the grand Canyon you will know how cows feel cause you will be herded around all day and your wallet will be a lot lighter also. Just remember there is nothing free in Vegas there is always strings attached. Buy a three day pass for the deuce bus it's the best and cheapest way to get around.

Thanks Sofa. We were wondering if we should try to see the Grand Canyon this trip, I don't think we will now.
My wife just wants to relax and do some sightseeing.

Go out to see Hoover dam if you like engineering and amazing construction; and judge the sustainability of Vegas water usage by the level of Lake Mead

Mob museum, cirque du sole, Gallagher's in Nyny for the steak, the pawn shop, ***** Last resort in Excalibur, the dueling pianos in NYNY, there's so much to do just wander into every hotel and check it out. We use the deuce, the monorail is ok. Cheap drinks are at the old strip along with mob museum there's a zip line there as well. Hugo's cellar. I go for the food and wife goes to shop. The obvious stuff you'll find easy enough, it's the off the beaten path that's harder. The taxi will fleece you with the scenic tour from airport to hotel, I think it's Tropicana you have to tell them to take. I use the ABC stores on the new strip for cocktails. Rent a car if you plan on leaving town

Get a strip bus pass 20 for three days. Factory outlets north side better than south take it to Fremont street. Ride the new Vegas eye it takes a half hour. Go see a hickey game.

Since your at New York New York become a mlife member. My hotel cost for week is simple Thursday Friday sat free room it's a suit.sun to wed 70 a night booked in June. 280 hotel cost.

Set up uber from airport but our cab cost 24 for ride.

Mlife also has a Vegas slot or card game use your points for free stuff. Like 2 for one or actual show sears.

We did Carrot Top I havent laughed that hard in a long time. Doing two other shows haven done yet.

              Good pasta place fashion mall.

Take the express bus downtown, same as deuce pass. Eat at the Fremont hotel buffet or at the Mainstreet Hotel Buffet, bus stops there. Enjoy the show along Fremont after 6. Be prepared to stand unless you can get a seat at a local bar. The North outlet mall has the best deals, bus stops there. Don't get roped into the free show timeshare spiel. Join the rewards clubs for some show perks.

Zumanity with Mlife front row cost 120 for two front tow by stage.

Best paying hotel is Mandalay Bay had a good night last night back to positive by a little bit. Santana played their last night.

Sun goes down at 4:30 with time change. So do the wheel at that time.

Go to Freemont on friday or satur day night if you want to see the weird freaks out and about. We have checked out pawn stars and kounts kustoms not much to see but you can at least say you've been there. The top of the eifel tower at night to watch the water fountain show is quite amazing also stratosphere tower gives you a good perspective of Vegas you could also do the rides on top of the tower,I couldn't do it 1100 ft spinning around over the edge was just too much.

Eating- steak house at the Rui upstairs beside the ghost bar, forget the name but it's very good. Also Hugo's cellar on Fremont street.

Shows- Absinthe at Caesars palace I believe under the big top, not for children or faint of heart though
Terry Fador has a good variety show if you are a bit more conservative(not politics conservative go see both and see what I mean)

Helicopter to Grand Canyon, dune buggies north of Nellie AFB were both fun. Haven't done it but I hear the fighter jets beat all hands down, but you need $3-4K my buddy tells me the videos show he had a blast but the look on his face when pulling G's was priceless

We are Cheapo Vegasholics because we go a few times a year. Allegiant Air out of Minot is sometimes super cheap and direct-no fuss-no muss-no customs-no line-ups just hop on and you are in Vegas in 2 1/2 hrs. on-time or 1/2 hour early. Prior to leaving, I log on to "cheap cars for rent" and if you watch, you can get really good deals from all the major rentals, but we never scrimp on the car cause we like our wheels. When we arrive at McArren, we hop in our car, hook on the navigation, then straight to hotel, Monte Carlo, Bellagio, Paris, the Imagine or Caesars (all comped as I am a Cheapo, remember?) We use vallet all the time, no matter where we go for safety and convenience. We have players cards at many casinos and play roulette, poker, etc for points. It is an easy drive to Laughlin, Temecula, Phoenix-Mesa, Havasu, Palm Springs and we go wherever the winds blow us.

Comp Game : To play the cheapo comp game, you goto roulette or some table game, give them a hundred bucks and your card, play the outside in roulette if you don't want to lose much (cash out after an hour or two, repeat) You prolly will get free rooms, players cash and food comps for next visit. After about 5 years of taking the Saskatoon farmer's advice, we get about 3 new comps a week in the mail and by e-mail. I ( A farmer from Saskatoon taught us the comp routine as they do stay for three weeks at a time - for pretty much free.) The problem is that they have to move every three or four days. We have found out Free Vegas is way more fun than Pay Vegas 😁.

Our Special places: Green Valley Ranch Casino has beautiful buffets as do all of the station casinos for 7.99 -11.99. Crab Buffet Friday night for sure, not too cheap but if you get a buffet comp, that's a good time to use it. At any rate, I was told that the Golden Nugget has best crab buffet on the old strip and have gone there about 4 times for about $30.00 for all the crab, shrimp, prime rib you can eat isn't too shabby. Boulder Station Casino has fantastic Enchiladas and Mile-High Lemon Pie - always a quick stop. The old strip, Freemont street has the starlight dome, free street shows(weekends are crazy) and lots of interesting people. Do not park around the perimeter. Use the casino vallets and tip the drivers because it is dangerous in that area.

Additional comp info: Players cards track play action or time spent gambling - not dollars lost -so we are told anyway. The VIP cards give you free use of comp rooms and lots of half-price show tickets. We have seen pretty well every running show that was on when we were there. Cher was on this time but I was too slow on the draw. The new metro centre right next to Monte Carlo makes for extreme traffic at show start so don't go near the middle strip at 7:30-8:00 in the evening.nIf you are into horse riding, there are stables west on Blue Diamond Road. The rides are very scenic and well worth a hundred bucks or so. First week if Dec is the national rodeo, a fantastic time to stay at South Point. In January, the mixed curling is on at the Orleans and last year we had two afternoons of lots of fun there. Dress for your province or country.

Monte Carlo is in reno mode so this time everything we did was comped (the building projects make for little inconvenience but..). They were supposedly going to charge us $15 a day for vallet, but they even comped that. Our total bill was zero-as in goose egg for 3 nights. We goto the factory outlets and north is better as SF3 mentioned. My wife likes shopping so we bring an extra suitcase, we have even donated some old stuff to Sally Anne to make room. I have had to restrict her from seven pairs of shoes to 2 now as we are running into closet problems.

We're somewhat eccentric but get a kick out of seeing where the comps will take us. We meet up with the Saskatoon farmer if they are there. We walk a lot of miles and are dead-tired. We try not to pig out on free booze or we might have liver failure, so we are always happy to come home.
