That's why I say things that aren't considered politically correct. Until these issues are addressed.... expect the same results!

Even the MMIW commission is a bit of a farce.... I think we all know what the root cause is. Now what are we going to do to change it? The changes need to start with the individual, then the home, then the community and anyone who wants to call me out..... go ahead! I never said it was going to be quick or easy!

Even if all these little things that are done develop a little more respect between everyone.... maybe that's all we can ask for for now.

I for one would stand with our First Nation Canadians any day over the Border Jumpers and Fake New Canadians were just allowing in. Sorry. Were Canadas first people.

Ukrainian Christmas and new years was especially fun when we used to take the old horse and sleigh and "seed" our neighbours. Now those of you who aren't UK probably don't know what I am talking about. Kids took wheat to neighbours (sprinkled on their doorstep), sang carols and wished them a good crop the coming year. The welcoming neighbours responded by giving us a drink and a goodly sum of money (for young kids). The more they gave us, the better the next year's harvest was going to be. Farma, now I know why the crops are always better around Canora. 😂
Wow we got the same bag except I think there might have been a small candy cane in there as Well!!!!!!

I saw a news feed about border jumpers refusing to enter at a designated border crossing. The RCMP were standing at this fenced bushy illegal crossing trying to stop them ( many Nigerians leaving the US). The border jumpers just pushed on past the cops in defiance. They said they knew that Canada would be their salvation, but I'll be damned if they cared about our law and order. Can you believe? Whobwants to lay out the welcome mat for law-breakers, you Grassy and Chuck?

Back to Christmas school etc. I was surprised my kids entire school has a carol sing every afternoon this year in the gym. (Grades 1 to 4) They seem to do lots of crafts and activities with a Christmas focus and that is great.

My complaint is that cameras/ pi tures are not allowed anymore at school events. I think it's pretty ridiculous that you can't take your child's picture at the concert in case you accidentally get someone else in the photo. Who cares if someone posts on Facebook a group shot of children doing a group event. I would think it gives everyone a pride boost and a feeling of teamwork etc. But according to society I'm wrong.

Christmas has lost a lot of its original meaning for many people. It has turned into more of a commercial holiday that makes or breaks retailers. Why do we need most of this extra out of control spending that really only makes us feel empty and broke. Yes it is fun to watch the small kids and they get so excited. But for most older teenagers and adults the joy is gone.

On the issue of first nations we are seeing a cultural change as we recognize the injustice and harm that we have brought. When first nations all live in decent houses and have good jobs, similar incomes and services as non-indigenous Canadians, then our job will have been done. But when you consider the standard of living of most first nations is well below average and many live in crappy over crowded houses without running water or safe water, we have work to do.

Many Christian consider Mary and Joseph refugees. Like many of our ancestors refugees are trying to find a better place to live without persecution, war, and poverty. How can you blame mothers and fathers for wanting a better life for their children? We are a nation of first nations, immigrants and refugees. This is what makes us who we are.

"Border jumpers" "designated border crossing" "damned if they cared about our law and order."

Irony of fake outrage coming from anti-CWB "border jumpers" = priceless.

I agree bgmb, any monetary involvement by the whites is controlled by the chief and the people have to beg for any part of the booty. On the reserve, the people don't even own their homes. Which one of us would like their lot in life? Think we all start out as equals? - not in my opinion ------ So my twelve days of Xmas started yesterday, only its not giving to some bureaucratic agency where much disappears, but instead placed into a warm hand. Today, it was a young indigenous fellow with two small children in a sleigh. The excitement was excellerating. Just my way of sharing the spirit of the season. Merry Christmas to you all.
