The results of a popularity contest, also known as an election, have very little relevance to proving if the candidate understands the issue or speaks the truth. The most recent elections both here and south of the border prove that.

Maybe the opening poster could put up a link to any news items about the issue? - the parliamentary discussions, votes etc because I haven't been able to locate these. It would be interesting to study the issue to see what's gone on.
