    breaks you heart aussie farming

This is about 80kms from me.

2.30am and harvesting what looks like an amazing 3t/ha crop, only to have the yield monitor read 0.00t/ha...

      Wow that's bad.

Reminds me of 1983 when we had a real nice stand of wheat in this area that wheat midge got into real bad. We would swath wheat and the swath was all puffed up with the heads pointing up in the air. What looked like 50 yielded 5-10! Nobody new to watch for midge and the only agronomist that were around worked for the government and they told us it was glume blotch.

I was just getting started so it was an ugly blow for me and a lot of other farmers in the area.

Saskatchewan can break your heart also.

              been there done that.
              july frost .
I did get out to check if the elevator door was open.
              the strangest feeling.

putting it thru and absolutely nothing going in the hopper.

Farming has a way of creating big excitement and anticipation but reality kicks you in the nuts more often than not.

Your elevator door story reminds me of the time I was combining durum, 2014, bad fusarium infection grading commercial salvage....we too got out and checked the doors and the seives....it wasn't yeilding "nothing" but it was bad enough that I got out and checked a couple of times. Hand thrashed a couple of heads....didn't realize it was that bad.

holy shit seldom we must be the exact same age , wasn't that a bitch ? funny thing was that jack scowen told us the first year to spray lorsban , we didn't listen and got the same treatment next year . never grew wheat for 8 years . combine 1 mile an hour for sfa and crop ins wouldn't let us burn it

Not mine guys. We have frost as well but parts of some paddocks say 190ha paddock might have 25% on 20ha for example.

Never actually had zero in cereals ever canola yes peas yes
