    Canola and Flax Councils

See report that Richardson grainco has withdrawn funding support.
Wants to get away from single crop focus in favor of broader groupings like Cereals Canada.
Not opposed to graincos and grower commissions moving in thiat direction.
SaskWheat annul meeting passed resolution to join Cereals Canada.
Too many of us still see value chains as zero sum games in which profits for one segment come at the expense of another, witness comments posted on AgriVille.
Some say they are just stirring the pot but personally think growers are better to work for a system in which all segments are profitable.

Sure beats having 20 splintered groups wanting different things or worse doing the same thing.

Will mean less overhead and more efficiency.

As long as good regional representation I think it's a great change.

At the Saskatoon wheat commission meeting, one of those who rose in opposition to Cereals Canada support motion inferred that grainco support for the cereals organization made it something that growers should not get involved with.

Every part of the industry is wildly profitable except for the producer...

Why is it every other agriculture producer has a group that represents farmers. Germany has the DLG. So does France (can't remember the name) The UK Has their NFU.

Argentina has 4 different ones depending on sector.

When shit goes south they will shut down the entire country to protest.

What do we have? Well, somehow we decide that we're free and open market people that "compete"... in truth, all we "compete" with is each other, trying to produce for less, sell for less.

I don't understand this brainwashed logic...

Farmers should have their own group. Terminals have theirs. ABCD have theirs...

Western Canadian farmers will never organize as a single group. Never, ever.
