Among 39 resolutions they came up with at their caucus retreat is their desire to legalize prostitution — not exactly a front-burner issue that has Canadians talking around the proverbial water cooler — but one that will make it hard-pressed for Trudeau to retain his status as Canada’s first self-declared feminist prime minister.
The johns will get his vote, for sure, but women?
With the federal deficit now pushing $20 billion, down from the originally budgeted sum of $28.5 billion, but still double what was promised during the election, the Liberals are smoking the d****s if they think the legalization of pot will have them rolling in surpluses.
But they are dreamers.
At their caucus retreat, for example, there was apparently no talk about reining in the deficit spending but lots of talk about spending more.
They want to establish a guaranteed minimum income, expand universal health care to cover all prescription drugs and build a fixed link bridge connecting Newfoundland to the mainland.
That’ll be some bridge. The distance between Channel-Port aux Basques in Newfoundland, and North Sydney, N.S., for example, is approximately 165 kilometres.
And, regardless of where it’s built, it will won’t be cheap.
The new Gordie Howe International Bridge, connecting Detroit and Windsor, Ont., is only 2.5 kilometres in length and is projected to cost $4.8 billion.
The low value of the loonie, however, has already added another $2 billion to that cost.
What a laughing stock of brain morons!
