I absolutely object to the image of Canadian farmers being presented by this forum because it doesn't represent the cross section of the farm population I know. I try and counter it at every opportunity.

I agree with grass. We are repeatedly hearing from a small number of farmers on Agriville many of which share similar views which are not representative of the wide range of views that rural people have across the country.

Most farmers can't be bothered with posting anything. There might be a fair number of viewers though.

Perhaps the Agriville administrators would care to comment on how many members and viewers there are?

It seems like politics is the most popular topic. A lot of the posts are rants which don't really serve much purpose other than to keep minds closed and stifle real discussions about the issues.

Most of what is posted wouldn't get said in public debates.

I am very surprised how negative many of the posters are about everything. Farming is difficult and stressful at times but is it really that bad out there?

farming actually going pretty good here , fwiw. we had some wet years , but were used to it . but i object to a leader that hates the west . have you heard anyone from the feds say or do anything about the pea tariff , just for one example ? or the joke we have for grain movement ?? and harper and his bunch were no better in that dept. do you not see the crumbling infrastructure in canada ? we can't even fix all the bridges here , have to shut roads down instead, while these playboys and playgirls fly around giving money away , instead of grain which could be bought and given to starving people.. do you even know who the federal ag minister even is ? have you ever heard him speak??? when there was tariffs put on bombardier , they sure as hell took notice . western ag is worth a hell of a lot more than bombardier , maybe its time western canada got some respect . if the cement plant (talk about downstream emissions) would of got built in sask instead of quebec , imagine the uproar from the green crowd . i think it is you who doesn't have a grasp on how sick and tired westerners are of getting f#@ked at every turn . what other country would hold sask and alta hostage the way this one does .?
