Hog Barn not paying for delivered Barley

Four and a half months ago I sold a couple of truck loads of barley to a large hog operation, and I am still awaiting payment for it. I've phoned head office at least ten times in the past two months, but all I get is a bunch of B.S. storys about getting paid in a week or two, but it never happens. They tell me I'm on a waiting list and as soon as they get money, they pay the feed suppliers in the order they delivered.

I've looked at legal action, but it costs $1500 to go to Court of Queens Bench plus whatever the lawyer want to make off of me. And in Small Claims Court you can only file for $5000(less than what they owe me)

Does anyone have any other suggestions on how to collect?

Amazingly enough, the new Saftey Net may help you out, especially if your income is below the olympic average of the last 5 years.

Make sure you apply for it is the first step!

The various cost for coverage on deposits (100% to 85% is 50% coverage, gets better as your income drops further) means that likely you have a chance of getting at least 50% BACK IS 2003 IS an average year.

Of course a check now would be much better.

From personal experence, a polite personal visit, often, is the most effective in retrieving owed debt.
