Carbon tax = high costs for everything.
A plant like this in a cold climate will be hit hard with increasing electricity, heating costs due to Nutjobs policies.
Notley also has raised corporate tax rates in AB.
USA is slashing corporate tax rates this year.
This shouldn’t be a surprise.

Spitz is now owned by Pepsico so no surprise they are bailing on us. Pepsi is handing over all production to a contract company. One reason they gave was that it's a growing market for the Sptiz brand and Bow Island couldn't meet it. I do know a couple of growers but they had been selling into the export market for a better return. Spitz had a good run here.

Wasn't there a Spitz plant on the SW corner of Medicine Hat, west of the airport? Is it still there or is it gone too?

Some good sunflower seeds out of winnipeg maybe they can expand. If you want to leave Canada take off. But buy Canada first if there is that option.
