Time to Put Big Tarriffs On Imports From India

Instead of taking an “Indian Family Vacation”, the PM should be pounding the table on restoring trade with our pulses. Canada has a huge presence in India pulses, they need Canada...but not lately because they have a good crop and our prices got too high for the cheepies. The signs were there...fooling around with fumigation etc....as usual we Canadian’s slept through it thinking they were our good friends. They will be back, their rains will fail, their farmers won’t produce enough, but in the meantime we loose out waiting on the sidelines. How about a measured response of equal punitive tariffs on Indian imported goods? Make some money from them, let them feel some of the same pain. Never heard a peep about that....but then again where is the leadership? Not even from our Super Rich Pulse Board!

Ahem.....Canada imports about $2 Billion in goods from India....we export $2.1 Billion (2009 Stats)....I think the impact will be huge. At least we make money off them and get their attention rather than going to our corner and sulking while we wait it out.

Yes this is the only way to get the attention of these guys. President Trump understands that and that is why the US is doing what it is doing on the trade front. Time for tariffs on Indian goods now.
