Complete industry failure? Let’s not get carried away here. Peas are still trading. Just delivered some a couple weeks ago for $7. Not great I realize but not horrible either-sold peas for 4.50 some years ago.
And red lentils at .19 c is not great but they have been much lower. There are some moving at that too.
China is on pace to import record volumes.
New plants are coming on stream here
Pulse consumption in North America quadrupled last year.
      There are positives.

Something doesn't seem right. Quadruple in one year doesn't even sound possible, even from the extremely low levels they started at. From western Producer :

Based on an analysis of U.S. Department of Agriculture stocks data, domestic consumption of pulses in the United States will reach 900,000 tonnes in 2016-17, up from 350,000 tonnes the previous year.

Which is still 2.5 times YOY. Must be some sort of accounting trick, to balance stocks that ended up showing such an increase in such a short period of time?

Check off dollars maybe partly should go to investigating why the prices we ve received and still receive aren't what they should be kinda like the bread selling deal for us wheat farmers.

Galen Weston admits price fixing and collusion of billions of dollars and he gets away with a 25 dollar gift card that relieves him of a class action and the CRA allows him to use the tax laws to take a write down.....

Worse yet he leaves the price of bread where it was to pay for it all.

Watching politicians ask about the current grain transportation issue ....the response is the conservative did nothing for 10 years...that's the benchmark. ...to do very little....

It's so warming to have people that obviously don't give a **** about much....

Politicians don't understand the problem nor do they care..
