Won't happen for the simple reason that China does not hold the cards here. China NEEDS the US market to sell its exports because where else are you going to sell it? China has to export since it has to service debt which is around $40T most of it in $USD. As people and countries are forced to eventually deleverage, demand is the big issue. Access to what is still the richest consumer market in the world becomes more and more important. This is why efforts to diversify exports away from the US always fails. No one is taking imports.

Interesting times. Our dollar would get grain prices moving if not for the railways. The new millenium in Canadian grain trade had better turn around. Farmers gotta revolt soon or we are doomed.

As much as I bitch about grain cos. ...the only bottleneck in our system is the railways....if that doesn't change the trend for production might as well stay at 35mmt....that's all the railways can or will do ...

When a railway on a per acre basis makes more than a farmer nets ....the system is already doomed.

Trump does not know what he is doing one day to the next.
most of the world has quit listening, until
            something is an actual law.

the bluff does not work when you do it all the time.

Brings more reason to why Trump is warming up to NK. Taiwan China tensions, Russian ambitions, pending global economic collapse. Too many festering sores to avoid before the host becomes septic.

Wonder if trump owns a steel or aluminum company? Or related that will benefit?

Does anyone think the U.S. could let their steel industry fade away ? Really? The largest economy on earth with a fading steel production would be a disaster for more than them .
I am not big Trump supporter much , but think about the bigger picture . Look at the U.S. , solely on its own , if the steel industry collapsed theoretically their fuked

This raises an eyebrow as well at home , what drives the Canadian economy?? The people in power are doing everything they can to squash it !! Wealth creation industry -they hate it . Think about it .
