'The Spin' on Canadian Jobs Data

Cdn jobs data released this morning. Canada added 15,400 jobs in February and unemployment edged down to 5.8%. But . . . these gains were a result of a surge in part-time work that offset a huge decline in full-time jobs.

In reality, Canada lost nearly 40,000 full-time positions while generating nearly 55,000 part-time jobs. This is the biter (IMO) . . . apparently government generated more than 50,000 jobs.

There will definitely be little chance of a Bank of Canada rate hike in the foreseeable future (IMO).

Good grief . . . is Canada turning into a Greece?

We hope Canuckistan will be like Greece, but here in Canuckistan we print the loon so it will be much worse. More like Venezuela. The only thing Greece has in it favor is that it does not print the Euro. The seniors want their pension in Euros which have some value rather than Drachmas which they know would have no value. For that reason the end of Canuckistan will be like Venezuela.

If Kinder Morgan and other pipelines are not approved and built this downward trend of less quality jobs will continue.

If Alberta reduces flow of the present kinder Morgan like they’re threatening maybe it’ll squeeze the morons. Most all of bc’s petroleum comes from Alberta. Other supply chains couldn’t make up for the shortfall. See how much the tree huggers could survive without our “dirty oil”.

Greece is 10 years ahead of us. Our crash and burn is much further in the distance. They've already had their govt debt crisis. We'll get there soon enough

Solid idea, plan the slowdown and valve closure around November 1st 2018.
They would sure look hypocritical too when they are begging for more "dirty oil" from the oilsands.

                    Yes, another peeve of mine.
Look at private sector vs public sector jobs. One creates one consumes. That spread gets worse every year.
