Marijuana, has anyone got a clue?

So the big money grab appears now the reality is the policing and social problems will scoop up all the money and in fact be a shortfall. No one seems to know what he rules should be or will be or what the plan is when it all goes to shit or pot?
Wouldn't you expect a national set of rules? Should have been shut down if nothing else due to the incompetence of implementing it.

Hopefully it will be done better than marketing freedom for wheat.....

Ironically the pot market is getting regulated and the wheat market unregulated. Obviously opposites but both poorly implemented.

So explained how legalizing it makes for more policing ? there is many users today. I think its a money ploy of the police to try and get more money so they can afford more toys.

How does it work smoking in your house with underage kids? Everyone in the house
High anyway so now that it's legal their brains won't be damaged?
Or will there be a law against that?
        Smoking in a car?
A restaurant? On the street? In your tractor?

no different than taxes on alcohol. if you add up all the social harms caused by it, personal health, healthcare, DUI, domestic violence, crime, etc, I doubt it is a money maker for governments after deducting all these costs.

Hopefully most stoners wouldn’t smoke pot with their kids in the house since this would lower their kids IQ and damage their brains......but there are a lot of special people out there who likely will.

I guess it’s true a lot of farmers are old and missinformed. The old guys on here really bought the reefer madness movement from the 50’s and 60’s. It’s kind of embarrassing to be in the same profession as some of you cavemen. Lucky you old farts will soon be retired and maybe I’ll farm your land.

There are 3 to 4 generations in Canada myself included that only ever learned that marijuanna is bad.
I started growing hemp and that took about 4 years of jokes and ignorant questions from the locals. Eventually some older locals reveal they eat hemp everyday. Eventually some privately disclose they use mj for arthrithis, insomnia, anxiety. They decided that mj is better than 2 double rums every night for 5 years. I have a good friend/upstanding citizen who suprised me by saying he and his wife drank a 1.95L of vodka per week.
I started looking into marijuanna , internet mostly. I went to a conference in Vancouver expecting hippies. I mostly met investment bankers and corporate lawyers. The venue was jam packed with regular folks.
My opinion is that if you use marijuanna like you would any of the prescriptions it will do you a lot of good. People claim they decided to choose a plant over pills.
I dont know enough about recreational use but social media claims the governments attemp at monopolizing and taxing mj is going to be disastrous. One statement that made me laugh was “only the government knows how to lose money selling pot! “

Well said, hobbyfrmr. You are very right the cannabis industry in Canada is not what the older agricultural community thinks and it is sad so many farmers have missed opportunities dismissing it like the internet as a craze or fad. It is not a gold rush and companies will have to work hard like all farmers do with the ability to adapt and change with the marketplace. The industry needs many skilled labourers with greenhouse and cropping experience and they pay VERY well for these skills. Head growers often get more than $150k to run cannabis greenhouse operation. For young farmers there are new and exciting opportunities to capitalize on for your farm and agricultural skills.
If you are looking for more information about cannabis or hemp production opportunities in Canada, feel free to contact our https://rebelcannabis.ca Medical Marijuana Marketing team at rebel@RebelCannabis.ca

Opportunities for employment in cultivating, processing, greenhouse production, contract production, tissue culture, pest management, equipment design and sales and much more.

It's a ploy to get more liberal voters.

Brain damage them young hooked on Liberals for life.

Ok, the reality is I don't want to work beside a guy that's stoned sorry.

I also don't want to work with a guy who is an alcoholic.

Trudeau is being Trudeau throw out a thing that's popular with the young voter and old stoners and anyone who can't think for themselves.

But you need a plan and this shit for brains is like throwing shit on a wall see what sticks to it.

Reality is some who use for medical reasons are getting the shaft and that part is sad.

Also getting a criminal record for possession back in the 80s was totally stupid. Some kids have busted with a joint that part is a joke.

But when you have a Trudeau that's a joke the whole country is becoming a joke.

Alcohol and tobacco are far bigger problems than cannabis. Governments make a lot of tax revenue from both.

When you measure the health problems and economic losses from both alcohol and tobacco, problems with marijuana are very small.

A lot of our other major health problems are caused by poor diets and lack of activity.

When are governments going to spend more healthcare dollars on prevention and education?

I noticed that New York state has ads on TV against consuming sugary drinks.

We seem to be doing little to prevent disease in Canada.

I see huge greenhouses being built with huge growing capacity. Unless they expect everyone to start smoking or using pot in some way, the market has been well supplied forever by locals. Maybe they will quit growing it now, doubt it.

How can you compare alcohol and tobacco to marijuana. Two are widely used because of their legal status. Marijuana use will only increase because of legalization....just wait, the social and health ills are only going to increase. Don't be so naive. We spent the last two decades trying to get people to quit smoking...now light up a joint. ****en hypocritical governments.

Has anyone ever admitted to law enforcement or the healthcare system the cause of their situation may be a result of cannabis use.....when it was illegal?

I am on neither side of legalizing pot . There are valid points on either side of the issue .
My issue is who is getting permits and government (tax payer) money to set up grow ops .... and big ones .!
Yup two local crime syndicates here in the NW got federal blessings and approval to go ahead with big set ups . Ahhh , I guess a trip to the PM’s office kinda helps .

MJ and an angry old fart farmer directed at you, and yes both of this "shit" stinks.

Castrated, what part of Oliver88's observation was wrong?

I see this going in the same light as alcohol in a home environment. Users/parents giving and passing on their kids their experience.

A grandfather/old fart farmer, as you describe, receives a farm visit from his three twenty something, drunk grandsons. I could see it in his eyes as he related it, and his comments that he was hurting. What a waste those youth lives were, and the tell all comment that the best kids were the ones still in the sperm bank.

Casered, you don't have to worry, do you?
