Yes straight west of Arborfield by Cargill Nicklen siding.

I would hope that if its bush and is able to be trimmed back or removed that it is already in the works to be removed. If the trees are part of a yard could the road be re-routed to create better sight lines for all traffic?

Sounds like this is a very busy intersection and something has to be done before we have another accident.

The whole yard that is SE corner of that intersection need to be removed so when you are travelling north on hi-way 35 you stand a chance of seeing something coming and try to avoid it.

Rumble strips to wake people up when they are getting close to the intersection.

That's 20 people that have lost their lives there in the last ten years!

Sounds like the RCMP is pretty incompetent in that area. Here a cruiser would be sitting nearby and the money would be rolling in with tickets. Wouldn't take long for people to wise-up. Obviously clearing trees would help but driver incompetence is driver incompetence. I don't know what it costs to run a stop sign in SK, but make it a $5k ticket and things will change.

unfortunately they are spread way to thin here . and 3 reserves nearby multiply the problems. they have way to much ground to cover

The rcmp can't baby sit every stop sign.
We all know what that sign means.

Never said every stop sign. Sounds like this one in particular has a history of commanding no respect whatsoever. If no one is to enforce it, then clearing trees will have no concrete effective change and more crosses will be there in the future.

DOT sits at that intersection a lot... Most of those rolling thru are big trucks and there's a lot of traffic. Carrot river lumber mill / peat plant, Cargil, and bunge has the dehy plant across the road for canola storage.

A lot of the trucks going to the mill and peat plant aren't local... Many aren't even Canadians... The way the highway "looks" most don't think it's a major route north of that intersecrion.

Humboldt is a different place today.

Saddened and everyone is in shock.... It hasn't really sunk in yet.

The Leader Post has an aerial view of the crash. It looks like the bus ran into the side of the truck just behind the cab. Is that intersection that blind?

No. I don't know what happened obviously but if that truck was stopped at the stop sign there's no possible way the carnage that ensued could have ensued. Sitting at the stop sign - stopped - you can look to the south. The trees on the corner have been trimmed back enough to do that. Blowing through at 100 k from the east you can't see - in that sense its blind.

The only thing that puzzles me is how little damage has been done to the Pete. I know they're tough but that seems extreme. Regardless - if the truck was stopped in broad daylight at a level crossing this doesn't happen.
