Why aren't farmers as passionate about grain moving as oil??

I just don't get it. Almost blowing a gasket on here to die for oil pipelines and barely anything about the failures in trade deals and movement of grain???
Are farmers that brainwashed or narrow minded in support of the oil industry that they don't even see what's happenning to the entire grain industry? Are you guys getting a cheque from oil we don't know about? What the hell is it?
Even some desire oil to go up??? Really in a resource based economy where fuel moves our product and makes our product we want higher prices and that helps agriculture? Good grief!!!!

And when the pipeline gets built and it will you can say what ever you like truduea has been saying it has to happen which is unreal but has happenned, when oil companies have access to
Those higher prices are they going to charge us those high prices? Are they going to pay higher fees to us?

Would it not be prudent in our part to say hey we ll support your oil pipeline if you sell oil cheaper domestically since your gaining all this access to higher prices due to our support?
But instead what's happenning is the oil industry is crying and whining and all of a sudden I see we re even going to where federal and provincial governments are going to fund the projects???? So my taxes are going to fund a higher oil price to run my farm?? Really???lmao!!!!

I agree Big Wheel....people have gone broke fighting the railways for better grain movement and the rogering they give to the farmer. The government fails on so many levels the farmer....gives lip service to a impotent Transportation Agency and a watered down bill C49 as a solution.

I personally would like to see some radical moves here to improve the situation, but maybe it’s just you and I that are having the problem.

          Yup , I mentioned that in 2013 .
Have yet to see grain companies stick up for farmers at all.
Westernvickie has been the only one on here , although they farm as well . But still good to see.
But in media , it’s very rare if at all, grain companies mention anything about poor rail movement.

Graincos are providing part of the funding for the Ag Transport Coalition which was referenced countless times during this latest failure to move grain

while the oil co.s giving Canada a deal on oil is a nice idea.

                it is illegal under NAFTA.

that was part of our sovereignty we signed away in the deal.

if trump tore up NAFTA , that could happen . but it is not going to.
                Trump is all BS.
and at least the fed govt. realized that in the negotiations .

and why oil pipelines are a hotter topic among farmers than rail movement is .

the same reason the Conservative party says nothing is because of embarrassment .

harper in power for 2 terms , less than nothing done.
they would hardly acknowledge a problem.
                little lone fix it .

                on the other hand

the lack of pipelines , can be blamed on the liberals , NDP and green.
and there is some truth to that. but it is just part of liberals NDP , and all the green

                but that is basically it.

now if Notley and Trudeau take the stance they have taken in the last few days .
and push it thru . even if govt. money is involved .

                that is actually doing something.

good for them . hopefully they have balls to follow thru .
standing up against your own .

that would be the day when the conservative's stood up against the rail roads and grain co.s .
                never gonna happen ,

that is why , oil movement is a hotter topic than grain movement , among farmers
                escape the reality ,
that the folks they vote for work for someone else

Wow, sawfly that was the biggest dribble of bullshit i ever read.

Oil is a hot topic because the oil is using rail and it trickles down to grain we get pushed back.

Just watch at a rail crossing and count cars.

                    Trainspotting.

But the other problem is a useless twit in Ottawa who couldn't care one second about us.

He wasted 150000 just to fly to sit in the back row in Humboldt. Someone knew where to keep the selfie king and I applaud them that they didn't let the fool get his way. You could tell he was hurt. Hopefully, he enjoyed his Dairy Queen ice cream before he went home. THe fool.
