This morning at our hotel in Las Vegas, we examined the shampoo and conditioner labels and were “interested” in the fact that they were both environmentally friendly and carbon-neutral. They were Australian but produced in China (the most carbon-neutral) nation in the world. LOL

Then we started to talk about how this hoax got started and we agreed that David Suzuki with “The Nature of Things” and his dozen or so books and tv shows repeated the mantra weekly, then daily until he had people massaged into shape. Instant one sided media onnon

With things like this hoax, debate gets shut down and stifled. Many people do not like being called names, so lay off on their thoughts. Scientists who disagree, are throttled. So then the appearance of “consensus” comes into shape. Hockey stick graphs, ( no matter how false), constant one sided media stories, and you end up with an unstoppable snowball.

Take a bunch of people who trust anything semi science that they hear, live largely in urban areas where weather observance is just not a day to day activity, and you get everyone onside. Finally, you have 99.9 per cent of the population which lives south of the arctic, which the alarmists beat on incessantly, because it is an easy target to make up ‘facts’ about, because no one lives there and can refute it, and you have a winner.

Look at grassfarmer and dml farmer. They put up posts that are easy enough to question and refute by simply looking at current, past, or forecast weather for those regions. Not enough people do this though. They simply eat what they are fed, without asking or looking for themselves. We are a society that is easy to bring onside.

We as farmers, can look back at any given year in our farming career, and state within reason, what the year was like. Urbanites? Not so much. Is it any wonder that the more rural you are, the less likely you are to be taken in by this hoax? We know the variances, they are clueless.

Finally, one has to play percentages. Look at the politics of it. Compare it to unrelated political issues. Look at who most strongly sides with global warming. Given other things these parties align with, do you really trust them? Ie. I have extremely rarely thought liberals have made good decisions, or been stellar with honesty in the past, yet they are hook line and sinker into this climate bs. This should be a red flag for us in anything they think or believe in.
