I've been rethinking the strategy on this issue. I think we're better off not fighting this fight. Don't tell the catastrophists making the absurd predictions that nature isn't cooperating with them. Let the alarmists back themselves into a corner from which there is no getting out. We should even be encouraging them to spout increasingly catastrophic claims, Keep supporting ridiculous carnival Barkers with no credentials like Gore and DiCaprio. The longer they do that, The farther they will get from reality, the more marginalized they will be, and the less credibility they will have, soon there will become a point where they cannot moderate back from such an untenable position, All credibility will have been lost, And the war will be one without firing a shot.
If we keep giving them evidence to the contrary, There is the very slight risk that they may see the light and tone down their rhetoric in time to salvage the remaining shreds of their reputations. But instead, if we encourage them to keep making ever increasingly outlandish predictions and claims, perhaps we can expedite the time it takes for their over zealous sciencish projections to become so far divorced from reality that even Chuck and his ilk can see it and dissociate themselves from it.
We cannot risk these power hungry science deniers adopting a moderate/realistic position which would allow them to continue to affect policy for years to come. They need to be allowed enough rope to hang themselves now, before they accept that their position is completely untenable and change their tune.
I'll go first, It is definitely worse than we thought, new studies prove that Al Gore's movie was much too optimistic, and that the entire antarctic ice sheet will most certainly melt within the next 6 months unless we take drastic actions such as attending taxpayer funded holidays at 5 star resorts all over the world, also known as UN climate conferences, immediately.
