Yes done my little farm. Other than the green feed and hay I am doing on a quarter. Water running off fields. No joke. If we get more it will not be funny.

Starting to sound like the “drought” is over.....back to the muddy conditions we go.
The showers were pretty spotty. We have neighbours within six miles who tell us that they have not had a drop since seeding - believe it or not. Farmers around here who harrowed and packed are complaining that the rain is all running off. Well, prolly not all-eh?

Apparently the southern special areas, and the slum of the ghetto have new competition...

Better put any BASF herbicide back on the shelf except Bassagran

Had to giggle about 4 years ago BASF Rep was saying to beware of spraying peas if temps at night get down to plus’s 5 or lower for at least 4 days before or after . It clearly says on label , but anyway , I looked at him and said , so your products are basically useless until the 15th of June on any given year here on pulses .
He just got a blank look .... I said , well it’s the truth 80% of the time anywhere north of HWY 16. And by that time the peas are out of stage .
Plus there is almost always one cool night from June 1st to the 10th that never gets forecasted .... happens 80% of the time here. See all plus 8’s and 10’s for overnight lows , think your good to go then wam , one night drops like a stone to just above freezing out of nowhere. Peas get flashed yellow hard , and they have the perfect out to walk away from herbicide damage lol . I have seen that scenario many times in this area knock 25 bus/ac off , farmer left hanging and mad at the rep and the weather man . The odd time they will recover with the perfect weather later and just have 4-5 days delayed maturity and no yield loss , but that is odd .

Saturday night forecast low of seven here....that will be getting close. Tough call when the potential prolonged wet weather can put you on the wrong side of a herby app because of crop staging by the time you can get back on the fields. Sprayed May 28th...thats 5 days earlier than the forecasted low of seven on the night of June 2nd-morning of June 3rd.

I’ve got some nice rain on a third of my acres. The rest has seen nothing yet. I’m hoping that changes soon. But I’m glad to get something this year. I’m only spread out 10 miles this year is crazy here.
