What is the welfare amount per month?
What is the immigrant allowance?per person per family? When that runs out does welfare kick in?
What programs are there for immigrants business wise? Employment wise?
What amount do you get if you have kids and are on welfare? Per kid?

What amount do seniors get cpp?
Armed forces vets?

I d like to put this all in perspective but need the true numbers.

I think welfare is quite variable. If you are a single young person without any valid reason you can't work the cheque would be dismal, you can't "reward" people for doing absolutely nothing when they're able. A single parent with kids would likely be much better. Then there's guaranteed income supplements....is that like welfare? When people couldn't/wouldn't/didn't save enough to finance their retirement and get a monthly top up....I think there is definitely enough of that that happens.

I have never been in any of the situations you described so have no idea of how much any of the categories get and how they compare to each other. I highly doubt anyone on this site would know either.

We live in a socialist country, no matter which political party rules the day.

What about all the other social safety nets...workman's comp, employment insurance, medical leave, mat/pat leave...some of which are funded(in part?) by premiums.

Does anyone deserve 6-8 weeks of paid holidays after many years of service to a single company....on top of Stat holidays and "earned days off"(every second or third friday off). Pensions so rich that some of them are underfunded?

I would like to know also, seeing as its taxpayers money we should be privy to such info but it seems all secretive my old age security, is 589.59 / month I think all seniors get same c-p-p is all dependent on what you made, don't know what maximum is. Don't have a clue as to welfare ,foster home, aish I think in Alta is neer 1588/mo.

So about ? $1400 per month if no other income? Don’t know for sure.
No idea what welfare (social assistance) pays. IDK what refugees get, it is listed on the net, but too vague or complicated to say.

There some other government programs that go along with OAS. I have an old single bachelor friend who is on OAS. Last fall his senior friend found a program where he qualified for a new furnace in his house and this spring he had his roof shingled at no cost. The caveat is that he cannot sell the house for 5 years. He is happy about these things because it spruces up the value of his little house. I burst his balloon saying that he qualified for these no cost items from government, but it had to be paid for by other people’s income tax deductions.

The supplement is up to around $150 per month but is dependent on total income from other sources not including OAS. CPP is on top of this and is dependent on how much you paid in. Typically varies between $500 and $1300 per month. Can calculate your potential CPP on the CRA website. OAS everybody can get as long as you are 65 and have lived in Canada for 10 yrs. Otherwise retirement come from workplace pensions if you have one and savings such as RRSP's etc.

AJL, the supplement is decreased by the amount of CPP. CPP is not on top of the supplement.
If you don’t get CPP, then you can get supplement if no other income. Again, any other income reduces supplement. I think max supplement, if no income except OAS is about $800 per month.
