I know its an import tax and will flow to the government but does it just go into general revenue? Couldnt really see any answers for Canada or US. Seems to me if it was put into a separate fund and used to compensate the affected industries instead of pledging taxpayer dollars might make more sense. No doubt if the general revenues increase, spending will follow in line, then someday tariffs removed and revenue gone but spending still in place.
Heard on the news there are 20,000 applications from US companies to US government to be exempted from the tariffs on Canadian steel and aluminum. What a gong show of bureacracy thats gonna create!
