I don't understand the disdain and intolerance for an opposing opinion. Even if he does a hell of a job as playing Devil's Advocate at times.

You bring this upon yourself.
One post your meeting with the financial advisor discussing where to put money and the good advice he/she gave on buying the Florida house, and the next your looking for a government hand out.
Many on here feel there's a lot of lurkers on Agriville, I'm sure some of them are bureaucrats!

I see it as a cost to Trumps trade war which he started.Otherwise it was going to come back on him big time.Trump will now get a line up of other industries he has affected negatively because he thinks tariffs are the greatest.Looks like he is willing to take down the U.S.economy rather than come out being wrong.

Ah forage good cheerleader for grass. If you haven’t figured it out yet I post news stories that interest me.
You two morons then think it’s means play judge and jury.
Read and then explain as a Canadian farmer why trudeau and company shouldn’t look after us like steel producers.
Oh yea it’s all about me

Gonna change the topic for a bit. Ireland dry as a fart, London too. Seems like the “lord of the rains†is on-strike. The taxi driver in London says if it ever rains again, he is going to stand out naked in the rain for at least 15 minutes. Euros don’t work here, why didn’t you guys tell us that?

Lived through the time of Pierre Trudeau and his response to demonstrater, “why should I sell your wheat when that is the job of the wheat board?â€
Granted that the board said they could not sell more wheat except at a lower price and were depending on the quota system to limit deliveries.
See some support on here for more government regulated marketing like we had with wheat board but even Ralph Goodale says they are not about to bring it back.

I never want the CWB back but when a country puts a 50% tariff against my product I expect the government to hit them in the pocket on some shot they sell to Canada or help its farmers. Not dance dress up and look like a fool without even taking the ag minister.
That’s all and the USA will always help it’s own not like our idiot giving billions away to the world.

Here is an interesting little factoid from my little farm.
In 2016 I used durum seed saved from the farm....strongfield I think....Complete wreck was sold for feed.
In 2017 I used the same seed that was left over....sold for a 1cwad no issues.
Environmental conditions have more impact than anything else.
would have spraying helped in 2016? NOPE because its was ****ed.
So why are we as farmers having our allotments from governments seized into R&D?
Another factoid.
Side by side fields ...I sprayed my lentils once ...neighbor across road sprayed twice....same grade same yield....he was lighter the cost of spray.
Why the **** do we need higher yielding lentil varieties when no one is buying our product?
The R&D money should be reallocate to better and more pressing issues in Agriculture.Last edited by MBgrower; Jul 25, 2018, 17:28.

Wake up call - there is such a thing as business risk, assuming you can grow a product targeted at a foreign market and always get access to that market at a price that suits you is naive and foolish. Maybe when you're doing your financial planning based on the hundreds of thousands of dollars profit you anticipate getting taxed on you should plan on setting a little aside for a rainy day?
