How much yield will be lost this week?

yesterday , I started spraying peas, to put them out of their misery .
was the humane thing to do . more to do today.
80% of my peas were in the driest area , and poorest dirt.

now move or consolidate my scraps of old peas so crop insurance can count them .

before new crop , will be first claim since 02

was thinkin later crops would be better,
but that will not happen without a rain

I went on a tour NW of Wilkie yesterday with the Rack .
Interesting stuff as usual. They do a lot of work for those plots . Much like Cavalier Ag north of here . They both absolutely blow away any line company retail with agronomy .
But the area is for sure in a drought situation. Not terrible but very noticeable with the earlier crops .
A lot of spraying will be done shortly there as well.
Like you said sawfly , it’s been since ‘02. It’s not as bad it that area but still not great. A few good crops here and there .
We are still hanging on but need this rain ASAP .

Speaking of graders, how much yield is lost from clouds of dust blowing off RM road traffic because those dummies (not talking about the operators), order grading of every bone dry road on a weekly schedule?

We choke on it, and I suspect it can't be good for the crops, or shelter belts. Someone do a yield loss study to stop this recreational grading.

I haven't proven it yet but I think dust off roads affects the spraying out 100 feet into the field....That is the only thing different on the fields....

Sorry didn't mean it that way....I just noticed that my spraying is less effective along roads...I am looking at ways to reduce the problem...

Dust settles on leaves reducing the effectiveness of spray...high water volumes for outside rounds....

Been trying to spray at lower traffic volumes etc...

At least they grade your roads.
