In a trade atmosphere where the participants are focusing on domestic policy and benefits more than ever, it might just make good sense to drop unrelated demands, such as imposing UN/globalist agenda items, as Butt's puppet has apparently been directed to do.

How do you suppose Trudeau/Freeland/McKenna/Philpott would react if a trade partner would demand that we stop killing unborn babies as part of any negotiations? Or that free speech should be allowed in Canada?

It appears that Trudeau's extreme leftist bullshit is changing the tone of discussion.

    WORLDWIDE.

So, yes, these apparently "off-topic" points are related to the discussion.

I guess they are between a rock and a hard place.
It does appear these two sectors are the two biggest trade irritants.

It will be interesting to see who Captain Crayon and the media blame when a concession is given up due to their political games during negotiations.

If the US wants us to give up supply management then they should stop subsidizing their dairy farms and over producing dairy products.

We could also give up all our agriculture subsidies like Agriinvest and 1/2 the crop insurance premiums, that way the US will come to their senses and we will get the deal done.

This supply management thing is just as powerful as some other fanatisms. The whole country will suffer for the dogma. Weird!

This whole thing has classic Trump written all over it. He is asking for the stars and probably thinks he will walk away with the moon.
Canada and Mexico- divide and conquer. Play one country off against the other. If Canada doesn't fold sure the US is going to find them tough to deal with. IMO the US does have a beef with China as the trade imbalance is to great in China's favour. With Canada we are the US's biggest buyer of goods and sell them the most. The trade imbalance swings both ways depending upon the year. It will be interesting if the Trudeau Liberals will throw supply management under the bus to get a deal that Trump can say he won but I would have to say that auto's will be a hill the Liberals will die on. Tariffs on lumber, steel, aluminum etc hurt the US companies as bad as Canada. The midterms in the US will be interesting but I am not convinced anything will change. The so called Red states (Republican) have not been given a valid alternative yet to Trump. The Democrats are going to need to put someone out there that can appeal to rural America. Charles Schumer or Nancy Pelosi don't cut it in most of the US. There is beginning to be more anger in soybean country over the tariffs but US farmers have no alternative to put in the White house.
