Next year is a New seed stock year for HRS on our farm. We switched to AC Brandon years ago when it came out and it has been all it can be. But what out there that is better and can beat it overall. Also, Case whats was the barley like compared to Copland.

Just two that need to be changed in 2019.

Brandon So far this year is on par to be as good or better than 2017.

Copland still impressed us but we did spray it with Prosario.

SK3 you always want us to tell yields, but you rarely or never post yours. You say your Brandon is on par or better than 17, let’s hear some yields.

That sounds like columbus ....but everyone swathed back then.

Funny thing is they could repackage all those old varieties today and people would buy them....only difference is we are piling the groceries to them today....

I keep telling neighbours if we fertilized like this pre 2000 we would still be using the older varieties..

They performed well just on summer fallow... no fertilizer ...high proteins good colour etc...

But we get the privilege of paying for new seed regularly now...

Both when we buy seed and a trailing fee as well soon enough...

Get more high yielding varieties = higher production = lower prices = more complaining and beotching how low prices are.

Big when I say good it’s Good.

Put the juice and get the rain luck has it you produce grain in western canada. We’re back to normal in our area and farming is starting to be fun again.

It’s good year having fun. Again it’s been years.
