Go Bernier! He speaks what many Canadians feel, especially in Quebec. He may be the one to unify this disfunctional country. Hope some one can save it!

We may finally have a Conservative party again. Haven't had one since the Alliance party hijacked the last one

Bernier is spot on. Even calling out supply management. He’s a renegade from the get go. Wished he got the conservative leadership but old guard was afraid he is radical. Sheer is a nice face but comes off as boring and inactive. Sad if bernier runs off and starts another party because he will take votes with him. However, dingle nuts in Alberta done the same thing with the conservatives and he’s tripped on his dick a few times and the media has made light of it so his chances of splitting the vote is evaporating. Didn’t bernier have a hells angels girlfriend and left classified documents out on the coffee table? Everyone has skeletons it’s just how much the media hates you.

I for one would massively reduce immigration into this country which of course would reduce islamic immigration. No sharia law in my Canada. I would also solve the problem of the shrinking economy in Canada by increasing family size in Canada. How? Easy. Mass public sector layoffs. Women predominately work for the government doing relatively purposeless jobs in many cases. Increases in the GDP are meaningless as government activity is often included at cost because of the lack of way of valuing it. There you go: flame away.

Quoted From the Canadian Encyclopedia:
Québec, for its part, has secured sole responsibility in three areas related to permanent immigration: 1) the desired number of immigrants; 2) the selection of candidates who wish to settle in Québec (except for applicants for refugee status and members of the Family Class); 3) administration, monitoring and duration of sponsorship undertakings. Also, with regard to temporary immigration, Québec’s consent is required to: 1) issue a work permit; 2) issue a study permit and admit foreign students (except those participating in a Canadian program of assistance to developing countries); 3) authorize foreigners to come to Québec for medical treatment.
Did Bernier touch a cord with Liberals in Quebec, it is possible that the coeur of Berniers concerns echoed those of Les Quebecois: the concern over the open border.
A new party is a tremendous amount of long, painstaking toil an uphill battle at best and in the face of Canadian mainstream media which will numb every story that benefits change.
What Canada needs is balanced national news media, more than a new party.Last edited by westernvicki; Aug 23, 2018, 21:02.

What we have is a Conservative who wants to prove a point and kill the chances of Andrew getting into office.
Lets split the vote and let Shit for brains win.
This is the playbook the NDP used in Sask and won for years.
The liberals and Cons fought and the 33% who always vote for a socialist won. Year in year out.
Now we have a guy who on the first ballot I voted for. Sorry, I screw up also. Its a party and he had some ideas but he lost and you rally around the new leader. If you were popular you would have won.
He didn't so sit back wait or get out of politics.
No, this dip shit creates a new party.
Great just what we need to split the votes and let that useless fool win.
Pissed in Sask.

Bernier is a reflection of a lot of canadians ....Scheer wants to put it under the rug....Scheer, if he was a better politician would have started asking the questions Bernier was in a better way....
He should have been able to calm Bernier and get the message out that Bernier is getting at..
Old stock Canadians are not stupid ...they had a hand in building the Canadian identity ...one they don't take for granted....
Nor should we....
Trudeau is ruining the Canadian identity...
Bernier actually seems more Canadian than most realize...

This is a Quebec schism, boiled from discontent in his wake, and indeed it will take votes there from Liberals too, my bet.

Whether Liberal or Conservative most governments govern from pretty much middle of the road on most issues. Trudeau moved slightly to the left to capture the NDP vote especially on social issues.
Scheer is trying to stay close to the centre as possible.
You can't win with a hard right or hard left approach in Canada. If you put the Liberal, NDP and Greens together, a large majority of people in Canada are centre left. If you win with 40% you still have to pay attention to the other 60%.
There is a lot of discontent amongst a small group of core Conservatives many of which can't get over their obsessive hate of Trudeau. Scheer will only move the needle slightly to the right.
Bernier will go no where with a new party. He can't even win Quebec with his policy on supply management. Dairy farmers will kick his ass so hard in Quebec he won't know what hit him.
He is a naive libertarian idealist and a dud.
If he is truly a libertarian and supportive of farmers he would support joint running rights to make the western railways truly competitive to break up their duopoly.Last edited by chuckChuck; Aug 25, 2018, 08:04.
