Soybeans hitting rock bottom

Beans hit a 10 yr low today. Forecast is for a 53 bu average crop coming to a field near you. Well maybe not near, but things could get real ugly in the next few months. Canola could be heading down the free fall on the roller coaster.
Good thing we all have big canola crops to compensate for a price downturn. Right SK3???

It will never go back to the 80s.Sask has a growing population.Land values may soften but not like the 80's .Cause there is bigger players ready to buy up land than just your sask farmer neighbour.

Why should Canadian taxpayers subsidize every farm regardless of whether they need it or not?

Improve the safety net programs, cap them so that we don't enrich the really large farms who gobble up their neighbors. Target the subsidies and support to smaller and medium sized farms before we lose 1000s more.

So many of you guys complain about subsidies to other industries and want government out of the way and then as soon as there is a bump in the road you want to be bailed out too?

Why not? It’s easy for governments to hand money to every other part of society why shouldn’t we get some? Priorities in this world are so screwed we will never find our way back until people go hungry. When there’s always something to eat people fixate on TV or phones or something in the grand scheme of things that doesn’t matter. Governments keep food cheap so people can afford “stuff(shit)”. Why shouldn’t we as primary producers have as much importance and be supported with better prices so we don’t need “handouts or bailouts”. I for one don’t what any help just a fair price for my products. It’s hard to continue in this business when every other part of it always changes the rules or moves the finish line. One thing is common in all of us on this site and that is that we got in this business because we loved to produce a product and be rewarded for our work. Unfortunately it’s always reflected in a price that just keeps us from getting our ass bit by the wolf at the door!
