Hey Tom! Looks like Canadian seed industry is in the sights.

The bilateral agreement the U.S. and Mexico announced on Monday - before Canada rejoined NAFTA talks - called for “non-discriminatory treatment in grading of agricultural products,” according to the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative.

      Harmonization on wheat varieties?

And to those of you who think the only question we should be asking when Trump tells us to jump is: How High?

Toronto star claims Trump admits he is not willing to compromise at all in NAFTA negotiations

I found it odd that Trump wanted higher Mexican wages to get them to par with US workers. A $12/hr raise is like 3x what they were currently getting. So there must be some appeasing of the left going on. The problem with holding out and hopefully getting dems control the house is that would be relying on the same polling firms that said the morning of the election that Hillary had 94% of the vote. What happens is Trump locks up Senate and house for next 2 years? Maybe 6 years? We'd be more ****erd

The only thing going to be locked up is trump himself. Unless he gives himself s pardon. Hahaha

I ll bet money trump offered
              Mexico money through the back
Door and they ll announce later
That they ll pay for the wall with the American money. Hahahaha
The wall that's why he didn't want Canada to hear.

But I m so glad our economy didn't crash since there was no deal today. Anxious to see if the sun rises tomorrow morning. Hahahaha

There will be E15 soon, that will be good for the farm vote, and corn markets (next year) expect higher fert prices.

Trump will have Canada’s supply system disassembled over time. He has leverage over Canada, as the USA is the market for everything. Freight off shore, ocean is too expensive to other continents.
                Solid points Rareearth.

I agree with you that the main objective is to bring auto jobs back to Michigan and Ohio.
He did also win Winconsin in the last election which is likely asking him to make some changes regarding dairy....maybe Paul Ryan has pressed the issue too.

Interesting to see if E15 goes through.

It will. If you look at everything Canada wanted to negotiate for initially, social issues, they provide absolutely ZERO VALUE. There's no wealth created for anyone from this. It's only govt regulation that'll further impede industry. This is a trade agreement we are trying to negotiate and are trying to impose human rights on another country. Why are we doing this with the US and Mexico? I've seen the third bathroom in a restaurant in Florida and had to explain it to an 8 yr old. But like Saudi Arabia we are sticking our nose where it doesn't belong and can't respect other cultures. I have zero desire to live in S.A., I strongly suggest anyone living there that doesn't like it, to complete the proper paperwork and apply to immigrate. There's borders for a reason, it lets you live your life without foreign intervention. Value is created by WORK, not sitting on a couch playing video games and crying to mom about online bullies. Whether it's, skin color, sexuality, gender(or lack of), or political view, it creates nothing. Trade is the transfer of currency for goods. It brings foreign currency in so we can pay for social programs. Why are we imposing social values on foreign countries. If we get what our negotiators originally wanted, Canada will be no further ahead. They put zero thought into what would be beneficial to Canadians. Zero! Our politicians think because Canadians elected them, they have authority outside our borders. They are delusional and drunk on power. Canada has no offense in this situation and are totally on the defensive. We can only lose.
