Time to identify the true ****ers behind all this. The saudis, Russians and US oil buyers. Americans have a lot of oil but we have a lot more. American oil won’t last forever without Canada pumping cheap oil down there. Russians oil is costly enough to produce and ship too and another player like Canada is direct competition for the type of oil produced. All oil isn’t the same. NAFTA or not USA needs our oil. Maybe not as much as it appears now but in the long term for sure. Aside from the dingbats in power and environmentalists with a credent ear from the afformentioned fools, we are a stable close ally to America. Trump will be long gone in 6 years, hopefully Trudeau sooner and a new set of problems to face. But they will still need our oil. There was a reason for a ban on American oil exports.
Absolutely correct!!! We should be threatening to shut off the oil taps. But all our bought off politicians would sacrifice any other industry including farming to kiss American oil ass which is why all other sectors pay the price. That amount of oil we send there is crucial. They are also ***** up their foreign oil supplies with the big bullshitter 2 year old that no one wants to deal with.

Correct on the First Nations also. For those apposing stop sending the cheques. Harper was correct in saying there needed to be accountability for all the money also.

Looks like maybe they should have hired a former politician and paid him millions to advise law firms handling this how to get this done???? Hahahahaha

Oddly enough her carbon tax idea will ensure the NDP will never be re-elected in Alberta.

Wonder how much money is in refining? Big cost to add capacity but wonder if in the hypothetical more bitumen was refined here. Less volume but higher value export. More jobs and wealth created here. I’m thinking out loud but it’s not any different than our grains. Not saying all of it goes that way but a car load of asphalt diesel or gasoline shipped has created a lot more wealth here than raw oil. Even if these pipelines get built are we as good off? It’s been too “simple” and I mean that with veiled sarcasm, to ship south raw oil.

You probably will not read the link so let me point out you some highlights:
"The president last year signed a package of tax cuts that is forecast to expand the deficit by about $1.5 trillion over 10 years."

"The administration's July budget update projected a deficit of $890 billion for the fiscal year that ends Sept. 30, up from the February estimate of $873 billion. The $890 billion deficit projection represents a 34 percent increase from the $666 billion deficit the government recorded in 2017."

"For 2019, the administration is projecting the deficit will once again top $1 trillion and stay at that level for the next three years."

"The only other period when the federal government ran deficits above $1 trillion was the four years from 2009 through 2012, when the government used tax cuts and increased spending to combat the 2008 fiscal crisis and the worst economic downturn since the 1930s."

"His tax bill exploded the deficit, and now he is trying to balance the budget on the backs of federal workers," Connolly said"

A trillion dollar deficit yet conservatives still believe in Trump economics! Ha Ha

Was talking to a bulk dealer earlier this summer. He had a name for it that I can't remember rack price maybe? Anyhow it is an indication of the refinery profit, he said 20yrs ago it was 3 or 4 cents a litre and they were making money hand over fist but said it is now around 50cents a litre. Gotta be money makers but I guess you need the initial investment.

Thanks for this. A pay cut is exactly what our bureaucrats need. To the point, the article says that the deficit is up, however, from the article I linked it is not because revenue has fallen. Name one country who's deficit is smaller in fy 2018 from 2017. Not one. So the US is not doing poorer than other ones. For the record 890B is quite a bit less than 1T but a still a cause for concern.

No question all government's spend way more than they should and give tax cuts where they shouldn't. But why should every civil servant get a 2.1% pay raise automatically. The problem is not Trump cancelling it but rather the entitlement in the first place.

Zambia: That was easy, took one quick google search. I am sure there are others, just took the first I found.

And you realize that the military are also federal employees. So you think the US military personal should have a pay cut? And veterans? How about homeland security and border patrols, you think they are paid too much too?

And a 890 billion deficit is okay because it is less than a trillion? and you ignore the fact that 890 billion is up from 666 billion last year and that the budget calls for a trillion dollar deficit in each of the next 3 years.

I had asked you earlier to provide some proof for your statement that the revenue side in the US was up. I provided 4 links showing it wasn't. And all you provided was an article that claimed the deficit was up but not because revenues had fallen. Until you can show me actual proof that revenues have actually gone up I will continue to call out your fake news.
