Got to give credit to rare "fake news" guys like John Gormley who correctly called the carbon tax crusade with a prediction that over half of Canada's provincial politicians would come out solidly opposed to the federal governments carbon tax scheme within a short time frame.
Sure he missed the Alberta NDP being one of the players...and that other Canadian provincial players are beginning to pull their heads out of the sands...but at least he was basically way ahead of just about anyone calling what should have been obvious to everyone.
And then there is that US elephant in the room that is capable of pulling some serious stunts to distract from the fact that not only does he not have his pants on; there is nothing in his cranium beyond personal protectionism for his business; his hide and his type of business interest; and a lifetime of attempting to tear down all democracy; respect for hundreds of years of somewhat balanced rules of order; extreme partisanship and so on.
Who's going to call what the outcome of such a narrow minded attack will be on public institutions; working class people's interests; basic morals and the rest of the world's trade and commerce .
Just as John Gormley (and a seemingly unrecognized "minority" of those who called that carbon tax charade for what it was) most of us will get to see what 35% of partisan base support buys a two party electoral system in the US.
Because if the outcome isn't polar opposite to what the US currently has as " world leaders" (along with Canada which is seems is not worthy of mention or even mention except as some private disparagement of less than even being taken for granted);
then is the time when to silent majority throws the towel in and joins what will be real chaos and some really oppressive self centered looking out for special people and special interests, sectors, skin colors, beliefs and religious sects.
