I think most on this website know my sentiment about selling grain I don't have or know what it will be. Although I realize there are lost "opportunities" in that line of thinking.

101, we usually sell before the last guy holding does. Sometimes it pays sometimes it doesn't.

Sometimes cash flow dictates movement...not price. But then again, maybe that cash flow should have been planned for as best as possible under the current marketing pricing and movement structure.

To me its what they need, when they need it, and where they need it. Read the signals.

But one thing I really never want to do is give up the grain on a basis contract and play the futures. That's like me telling the dealership what I'm going to pay for the combine after the papers are signed with a down payment AND the combine is delivered to my farm....I don't think so!

Does any other business do business that way?

Some of the best prices seen on low protein HRS since the price spike in summer of 2017. $1.30 higher than last Sept for #1 11.5.
High protein is plentiful this year apparently. Last fall 14.5 was going for over $2 more than 11.5. This year 90 cents??
I guess sell the low-pro first if I guy has any

Blending it up might be the best option, if you have both high and low Px. Especially if there isn't much of a premium for relatively high Px. Have it done when you haul or let them do it and pocket the spreads if their will be any.

After last night's frost the graders will have their frost goggles on....even drought stressed wheat that was harvested before last night will have "frost".
