Well, the harvest is in full swing in our area. Or is it. Funny thing this year grain is not drying down the way it normally does. Sprayed fields aren't cooked till 21 days after spray. Guys that don't spray are playing the patches game. Guys that swath are filling aeration but it is dry after 14 days. Most of the farms in our area are just about wrapping up the cereal harvest. Now waiting on the Canola to Straight cut or swath canola is ready.

Ah, Trudeau, our most useless fool in all-time didn't let us down again this week he screwed up NAFTA. How childish can you be to go tell another country what to do on Native rights, Women and Gender Neutral rights plus climate change in a trade document? He is an arrogant fool.

Now the biggest idiot is NANOS who every week publish that their favourite PM is leading in the Polls. Now after the biggest week of screw-ups, they have him up to 40% chance of winning a majority. I actually got banned for calling them a fool organization. I said wow they really hurt my feelings. This new Canada where feelings are priority really sucks.

My feelings are hurt because of a PM who Danced in India and Screwed up our Pea price with not hitting India back but were farmers so we don't matter. Keep growing cheap food.

Again he is trying to win an election showing that the Big Fool from Canada can take on the Big Bad USA.

Ok here is this weeks report.

We are at 26% complete had a great week with no delays and no rain again. So basically the last rain on Sunday will have been 49 days. (For grass there is the total from all the showers of 2.3mm ).

HRS is coming in similar to last year but it depends if you are in an area that had more rain. Big difference in a 10-mile area. For us were similar to last year to a little above. Quality is Number 1 and protein is from 13.8 to 16.7 so far. Big fat seed. Most are almost wrapping up the wheat harvest.

Barley is all done no fields left from what I can see. Most are waiting on Malt and some are excepted. Feed is the way to go as the price is almost the same.

Oats yields are down about 25% and they are lighter than last year.

Flax harvest is underway as few fields sprayed are being taken off. Yield is lower than last year. Swath fields some are done.

Durum harvest is done with good quality and yields a little lower than HRS this year.

Peas are done some had a very nice yield others are average and ours well thanks BASF not good.

Canola a few fields are off with lower yields than last year but still very nice. Some fields in our area have the potential for a 6 in front for yield. But again depends on variety and rain. Some Pod shatter is not showing as good yield as regular this year. Wonder if they aren't bred for drought. Just saying. Most that sprayed are waiting for the green to dry down and the swath fields the same.

Pastures are running out of gas fast. Green feed made it give some seed in Head but Frost two nights ago cooked it good. -4 for a while and frost on windows. Killing frost I would say.

So I have to go fill up and start harvesting this is a short report. Have a safe harvest and remember the ones at home are way more important than any crop.

If your short start talking to your banker now. as I feel once the results get to Calgary or Toronto some weird shit might happen this fall with accounts.

In our area, it's normal to slightly below normal crop that depends on rain this summer.

Have a great day.

A “6” as the first number for canola and likely the same for your wheat, ya she’s a crop failure!!
Brag, brag, brag!! How can you say that when there’s some that may not even be in the teens?
At least you are posting somewhat of a yield number, like you expect us to do.

Lol. Two years ago, 6 was my only number because of too wet. This year I have some oats I hope has more than a 6 in front. Not much happening here. Damp, cool days. Guys say grain is not drying. I am a week away from starting. Forecast looks pathetic. Glad grain farming is getting to be a distant memory. Three more years, and I will be free of it. Finally.

Pastures in local area getting barer and barer.
In contrast to 1961, more sloughs still have water, some a lot more.
Thankful we not have cattle to worry about, empathize with those who do.
Turning out to be better yielding crops than expected.
Better agronomic practice showing it’s worth.

Wow bigZ I always said in the flood years we had a wreck while the whole province that wasn’t flooded had unbelievable crops never seen in there lives.

Now I said we’re back to normal and I get criticized for stating we have a good normal crop like we grew in the past before the floods.
Wow your special like grass.

Reality is It’s saskatchewan and we normally don’t get massive rain in the south and west side of sask.

Again it’s a crop report based on Luck or Management.

This week should finish off harvest 2018 in our southern camp.

One conclusion: We needed a couple more rains this growing season, one Farm Pogress week and one Regina exhibition week. You gotta wonder how anything survived with no rain since June 6. Crop yields could of - should of - would of been better than average but lucky to see average lentils and Canola around here. Bin space seems quite adequate around this district as we don’t see bins on the move nor construction crews around - I only see one BTO grain bag filled in our vacinity, not very long one. The early frost was the icing on the cake as it will most certainly limit the Canola and Flax bin space requirements. One good thing is that quality is great so far with no fusarium in the durum and beautiful lentils - dry, shiny and unblemished.

Second conclusion: We need 3-5 inches of fall moisture to fill the cracks - again.

I hear Aussie summer is just around the corner so we can look forward to minus double digits on our thermometers soon enough. Second season activities gonna kick in!

Safe Harvest, no srew-ups and also wishing for better harvest weather for our northern friends and SF3, stay out of the sloughs!

We couldn't get stuck in the fields here if we tried. Would have to drive into the middle of the 30 acre marsh or into one of the dug-outs.

I met a girl in a little car last night north of Pilot Butte, boy I turned around to see if she rolled in the ditch. Good grief, these roads are wash board and loose gravel and no one slows down.

Mine by the house look the same the cucumbers in the garden not so happy

Protein difference between yield.

Higher yield lower protein.
