Going out to try swathing canola or is it snowola?? After three years in a row I’m going with the latter😉

Peas are mostly off in the area and that’s it. Most crops are late from a month of smokey haze that just wouldn’t disappear. Got down to -2 last night but tonight is supposed to be -7 which will probably toast everything unless it snows a bunch more. Going to have green #3 canola again like last year most likely from all the second growth and stuff that came up late due to seeding into powder. No second cut done either. Dryer will be getting set up this week but doubt it will be used this month. The next ten days look crummy too.

October better be nicer than this. Too bad this moisture didn’t come in May or June when it could’ve helped.

33% done here including what I silaged. Actually 25% done combining. Inch of snow this morning. Peas done 40-60 bushel range, similar to last year. Mine was 58. Lots of Barley done 70-75 range. Some wheat done 50 at the low end without showers, those who got more rain 65-70. Most canola swathed very little combined. I swathed 1 field the rest is standing all sprayed, all Invigor. Very tall but I think will yield less than last year. Overall 10-20% less than last year. Weather forecast looks bad for at least a week.

In the seperation area we have slots in one and wide wire in other. Honestly no appreciable difference. Though i favor slotted. We run Mad concaves in positions 1 and 2 in wheat, narrow wire in 3 and 4. Very few white caps not sure I would bother with putting them in 3 and 4 and lose capacity.
he's not talking about the concaves in the seperating area . the new mad concaves are slotted , no wires . maybe , do you have the first ones that just had more bars and bigger wires?

The set up we did was the .300 front two , then .375 back two . That’s what’s in picture. We gained big capacity by not having the narrow wire in at all.

Up to a inch or two for our area day or Sunday. If we get tomorrow will be just at 50%.

👍 Nothing much off here. 10% at best. Lots of peas still out. Elevator taking tough cause trains showing up and no grain. Yields look decent considering the early season flooding. Swathed everything cause of green crap and glyphosate not working. Couple local pockets my area included are super wet. This is an arid area so Not used to it.

Hand shelled some peas yesterday, testing 22.
