Have to love a day when it starts with fog then mist then sun comes out and wind. We got a amount of grain off that would fill a bag, it’s in the dryer cooking tonight tomorrow will fill the bag with dry grain.

Well it looked real good at 4am but things changed.

Missed most major rain over night. Looked like a great harvest day and it starts to change.

Oh well shit happens we’ll take the rain,

One BTO friend across the valley pushed in tough canola and finished at 1:30 am.

Lots took tough Grain late yesterday afternoon in our area.

      Good job 👍

It appears that mother nature is a statistician, or at least aspiring to be one, and is working on averaging. Combine no rain and extreme high temps all summer, with excess moisture with extreme low temps in September, along with excess moisture and extreme cold in March and April, and we have had ideal normal weather this year.

HOT and COLD at the wrong times of growing season. Total opposite of 2017, never fired up dryer once....this year could dry majority of crop. Has happened before climate changed....1968, 1974, then we were told ICE AGE coming!

No one has moved an inch in two weeks here. Typical September. Lots of time for those who are panicky. But you never know. Last canola swathed ten days ago. Still looks as green as the day it was cut. The next ten days looks awful. Good for the hayland this rain.

Almost 2 inches at the cottage south of Canora.

Just over half a inch at farm today.

Moving grain out of dry bin to a bag.

Sold similar dryer two years ago after not using it for two or three.
Cost of propane, increased willingness of elevators to work with us on blending and investment in full floor aeration bins were considerations.
Still have canola out but also have over dry seed in bins to mix with it if swaths get dry enough to go through rotary combines.
