Maybe you missed it over the summer. Trump secured a new buyer of US soya in the EU.

And meanwhile, trump and gang are busy separating China's attack dog North Korea.

China has everything to lose. Part of its economy, businesses repatirated and will be surrounded by countries friendly to the US.

Trump has checkmated this thing. Its over.

Sorry for YouTube video links repeating....
      One more of my comments...

When profit trumps morals, look to the collapse of a civilization...has happened before.

Bottom line , Trump is a bully, unethical business guy, lies and cheats, boasts of his sexual conquests...and if that is what you want to look up to...good on you....but when society shifts to this mantra, and it is, don't blame young people...
Dont fool yourself. Politics and trade are bare knuckle business and practiced that way by even the most socialist politicians. Your hero Trudeau sits in a rooms all day plotting how he can pit one group against another and how he can redistribute wealth for votes. He takes equalization money from the west to support farmers that dont deserve it. Thats a bully in my books.

Trump doesnt have to be a hero or a role model. But he gets sh*t done and thats all that matters. Sometimes you have to let an alpha rule the roost for a while. When its all settled down then you can vote for hope and change again and we can gather around the campfire.

Until then, I want real change even if its messy.

Not a Trudeau fan either....but you worship who you want...that is the great thing...but if Trump has his way, there won't be a choice.
I will stick continue down my road....maybe someday ethics will trump profit.....or at least I will try.

Widely circulated article today. Sift through the politics if you want, but back to the original topic of trade flows changing. If China is able to find alternative sources of protein for hogs the longer this drags out the more beneficial it is to China. If we go long enough and they replace it elsewhere even if/when tarriffs are lifted they arent coming back for meal. Article is up to your own interpretation but POTUS could set the north american soybean industry back decades if it plays out as scripted. Article mentions replacing bean meal with cottonseed and canola. Not sure there's enough canola grown worldwide to replace US bean meal.... and cottonseed contains gossypol which is toxic in free form. Leaves me wondering how much truth is in the article? It smells like a "planted" article to me. But I'm no feed expert

I'm not sure why a politician needs to be someone you worship. Nobody is deserving of that status. Maybe we should realize that and instead vote for the best managers. I dont worship trump at all. But, he saw through the established order and how its was damaging our interests long term and he proceeded to cut it down to size, so I respect him for that. Do I care he likes hookers or strippers. Not at all.

A leaders first duty is to manage the economy for the best interest of its citazens. There are no rights or charters or anything like that if the economy is not functioning. Once that is tended to, then you can use the wealth to tend to the extras. Trudeau did it backwards, he took the wealth and spent it and failed to replace it with new wealth. Abject failure in my books. Every extra dollar of spending should come from 3 dollars in extra revenue.

The world economy is far bigger than that of the U.S. . . . .

We are now in the early stages of a global economic reset, whether the U.S. chooses to participate or not.
Global trade patterns will change and all countries will adapt or be left behind. IMO, protectionism will kill jobs and opportunity. How long it will take for the reset and trade patterns to adjust is unknown, but may take several years, as Jack Ma stated.

Read Peter Zeihen for some instruction about where the US sits in the world.

They are unchallenged militarily and economically and geographically. They hold the reserve currency and control trade and finance across the globe. The equity index dwarfs all others in the world combined. Much of the world trade is cleared in dollars. For gods sake people horde dollars in their mattresses. There are trillions of dollar bills in exchange all over the world right now.

People who slag the US dont understand it. Just like Trudeau and Freeland.

The FSU not so long ago an importer is now exporter with rapidly increasing production, and logistics efficiencies increasing daily, while we fight with railways as recent as this summer.

This makes China the global importer of note, who long before Trump, made global investments around the world being made all targeted at food security.
China is a deliberate nation. Evidence of the future is already obvious.

The world will change, it was changing before Trump, & geography of supply & demand is very different now.

We will need to adapt, USA & Canada, and entitlement could be an expensive legacy of those who cannot read the writing on the wall written now in Mandarin.
