Yes, fighting the wrong years battle this year. While we "should" be growing mostly barley this far west, between hail and drowning, barley has been the least profitable crop, even when prices are acceptable. Then, what is left over after the floods and hail you get to pick up flat off the ground and destroy equipment. So this year, with only 40 acres of barley, it never rained, so nothing drowned or lodged, with nothing falling from the sky, it also didn't hail enough to be noteworthy. Could have grown all barley and looked like a real genius. Neighbours with barley had a lot of it already off before this weather hit. Will have to check to see if my crystal ball is in need of calibration before next year.

After watching the ad though, I do feel badly for the Aussies, having to share their beer, amongst other things, perhaps we don't have it so bad after all.

My supper was a huge bowl of Ukrainian popcorn. Orville Redenbacher popped in olive oil and doused with melted real butter infused with two pressed cloves of garlic. And salt. Real healthy...the garlic cancels out the butter and salt!

              Go Riders

not Gibson's finest, but it will be rye of some kind any kind ,
as much as I love the commercial .
                  not drinking a Guinness .

neighbour came in the shop yesterday, in the snowstorm ,snuck up on me , I had the tractor running in there .
                  screwing with alternator ,
he said don't do it neil ,
though I was maybe going to end it all.

                  was a good laugh .

I have a good whack of money in aginvest. and wondered how I could ever get it out.

all of a sudden compared to the canola under snow , it does not seem like a lot.

hopefully it does not have to come to that.
                  ,
