Well, what a week. We are now just under 3 inches of moisture away from my 6 in that I would like to have before freeze up. There are 5 weeks of potential left. Then min snow all winter, one wet dump before seeding and 4 timely spots of rain in 2019 and we're back to 100% normal weather.

But like all good plans whats the song God laughs at your plans because he has his.

Yesterday Sunny warm plus 16 min spit the night before and 60 Km winds at one point and the above was taken as I drove back to the city at the end of the day just before dark. Yea great plan to start today and get into the HRS as the dryer is empty and waiting to Cook.
    Saturday snowstorm wet, wet snow

Snow was about 6 inches and did push the last of the wheat I had left down. The new plan to drop the headers and swath ahead of the combine as this is new land to us and the previous BTO didn't own a rock picker or move trees etc.

Ah, let's throw one big way to not go to our PM. ARe you that stupid to think its smart to rub and piss off and poke the guard dog when you're trying to get across the yard. Our negotiations team are the stupidest and most incompetent people we have in Canada. Why he decided these were the best for cabinet amazes me when there were qualified people who ran for the liberals and are sitting as backbenchers and not even on a committee.

Ok now on to the crop report.

Basically, our area had wet snow and rain and then more rain showers etc. Sun finally came out yesterday and then more rain at night. So you fix, get the dryer cleaned out, order propane and visit with neighbours. Why not were all in this together doesn't matter if your big or bigger or just starting out, everyone has crop out North of Town.

Continued do to only five pictures are allowed.

Ok, we have basically not moved since the rain hit last Friday at noon. So stuck at 50%. The Manitoba lady on CJGX was hilarious this week. Two weeks ago it was positive happy were ahead of schedule and basically done.

This week it was wow no movement again and the snow and rain are doing Major, major damage to crops quality.

    Really WTF.

Ok, so 50% and holding. Looks like an opening for Friday to Monday morning then a shit show again, Drew says patience. HAHA, I'm waiting.

HRS is almost done very little is left and the yields were very very good. Quality very good and the last will be mixed to keep grade. 60 to 80. But it also depends on when you had the rain events. I will agree with one thing the new shorter almost semi-dwarf wheat are a perfect fit for our area. Years ago we grew thick big healthy Straw crops and yields that were ok but not over the top. Now with the short varieties, all goes to the head. Not Trudeau wheat anymore. Something is in the head and not just stock and leaves.

Barley most is off but there are a few fields still standing or flat as the picture shows. Going to be slow going. Early most made malt and yield were very good.

Flax is a crop that is still out and guys will try if the sun comes out and the wind picks up. I hate to dry flax, actually won't put a bushel through ours and lots of others are like that. So the one guy will be busy.
    Yields lower than last year.

Peas and lentils are all off and fields we worked have growth starting from seeds that fell out.

Pastures had a good drink and have a chance for next year.

Green feed that was seeded late didn't do very well and might not even be rolled up. Thin and froze.

Durum off with yields below HRS.

Oats less yield than last year and lots still out.

Canola, oh canola, Standing if it was super thick it went twisted and lodged and flat from snow. Standing. If it was thin and not that great standing awesome. Swath snow melted and wind helped and probably just a day behind the standing to go. Programs are out there were the grain companies promise to take canola under 13 but you're getting it in the ass for 2 dollar discount because of they cant fill trains that they have buyers who paid well over twelve for so not really a deal boys.

But if you have no dryer you have to do what you can do.

Shovel goes in now easy into the ground and moisture is down one spade length. Three more and were set.

Gease love the flat crops there just eating and shitting and having a blast. Two seasons pleas we have too many.

Wild horses found out are not covered but wild boars are. Hm

Grain moving by train into some crushers from USA and filling and keeping the crush plants going. So the lid will be put on prices. Guys all over tried and took some Canola this week but hey if Input Viagra is calling and asking why no harvest you go harvest and deliver. Its all about feeding the Beast boys.

Keep safe all as the stress levels have gone to depth Con 11 if you have cropped out. Yes, we have 5 weeks till the end of October but the reality is some guys I know have moved in three weeks. Dryers are popping up all over Kijiji etc.

Please post what your area has done in the past week because I get so sick of the Bullshit coming out of Sask Ag and Food that I almost feel like when Justin Trudeau speaks.

Friends across the south example, 500 700 900 and 1500. Oh but all is done south of Number one. FM.

Be safe and remember the ones at home are way more important than a crop that they will do everything in there power to get for nothing. We do the work they get to play.

Harvest almost at a stand still for the last week. We took off some 13 canola and is being dried as I type but most guys haven’t done much. 99% of cereals are done around here. Canola and beans are left. Most guys would be 50% or greater done. No one finished. The way it looks it will be a while til that happens. Most yields are good not super but average to slightly above. Most guys with straight cut canola will be going in a day or two if no moisture today. Need the sun to shine and the wind to blow or the only warm air will be coming out of the dryer. Good luck to all.

Haven't turned a harvest wheel here in 18 days. Light rain all night. In talking to the neighbors sounds like everybody is in the 25% done range. Hutterites have some peas left in our area look like they were steamrolled after the snow. Wheat varies from steamrolled to maybe 50% standing, seems to depend on variety and how heavy the crop was, later seeded which are a bit lighter stood better. Standing canola looks decent shouldn't be an issue. Weather forecast offers no hope, I don't expect to turn a wheel before mid October. As for politics, it is pretty obvious to me the Federal Liberal's are pushing NAFTA past the Quebec provincial election as there will no doubt be concessions in dairy. Probably the greatest evidence of Trudeau's incompetence in negotiating is when this began he was concerned about indigenous rights, gender equality and climate change, where are those issues in NAFTA now? Nowhere to be found!

We get a shower every day.
Some standing oats combined the last 2 days.
                Fields getting muddy..
Viterra will dry 13 canola for 17 cents a bushel per point.
Should do it for free as price will rocket if not much more gets off this fall..might as well kick you when you down..
Dark clouds..looks like rain or snow rite now.

How does canola overwinter in the swath.
Have heard a few positive comments.
Always heard it was a write-off before.
I have shatter resistant , seeded on 1/2 the acres.
                  Regret swathing it all now.
Wondering if I should leave that for last.
In case it has to over winter .
                  Neighbours doing standing at
                  14-14.5 last night.
Swath is still soaked in the middle.
Maybe hard frost the next few nights . Will dry it out
A bit . But more snow in forecast after that.
                  Yuck

managed to get all the cereals done , except for 20 ac of oats that were swathed for. seed , now hoping they will be fit to sell, let alone for seed ! swathing sure works good in this country for cereals . also did a quarter of canary and dried it for the first time ever . standing canary straw sure goes fast .goes about two hours after a rain . creeping up on half done but not there yet . basically nothing for snow , fields were still pretty much dry yesterday , more rain last night , not sure now .? doesn't look like much though. lots of 12-16 canola came off here last few days , lots of oats at 15-16 were combined . some guys still have peas out here . was told yesterday that really good alfalfa seed will be about $.60/lb and not buying much . Frozen brown in sample won't sell . looks like time to put the roundup to it

Had #3 due to damage spring '17 and seen it #1 previously. With as much out as there could be, might get graded pretty hard. Depends how bad they want it but regardless there'll be a market. Don't burn it imo.

I love Rumors in small town shit hole Saskatchewan.

I am suppose to be having trouble getting guys out to work this year.

                        Hahahah

Let’s see pay 4 guys to 6 to come from the City to stand around and look at each other and then drive back to the city and get paid both ways

30 hours a week or more doing nothing or three locals take off enough each day to keep dryer rolling when no one is going.

                        Small town useless shit.

                        Oh but maybe look at it 40 hours x 20 plus is 800 a day I don’t pay last 12 I made 10000 grand.

There happy to be only coming out when we can go not sweep the shop or piss around.

Clouds coming in and really cold now.

Maybe take the case quad out for a little workout.

                        Like drew says patience grasshopper.
