Motley, how can that even be?

Still not sure I heard right if I didn't correct me please but her popularity has risen greatly in Alberta?
Isn't the province falling apart during these super low crude prices?
Is this oil thing kinda like the new new holland combines? They're scamming us all and even when prices go to half they still make money? Someone from Alberta explain what's going on there?
Workers from saskatxhewan oil leaving to work in Alberta because no
Work here. Also going to manitoba.
Although domestically I guess they are making money hand over fist refining and selling to us for higher price than when oil was over a 100 a barrel. But why Hasnt that translated into big money here in saskatxhewan also? With a large farm base were using fuel as high as anywhere I would guess? Yet government still can't catch up here to what was spent.
Not supporting her but I sure don't see it all falling apart like was predicted and I'd nothing else it makes or should have made the conservatives clean up rheir party but maybe her popularity is because they didn't clean it up?
Maybe people there realized oil has to be good for everyone not just the oil people?
    Interested in Albertans opinions?

Now now Mr SF3. She has shown some leadership on some important issues. I have more respect for her changing her ideological tune when it comes to doing what's best for the province she was elected to govern. Albertans may not agree....

Here is Notley on the left at an anti-oil rally, I believe the woman with sign is also an Alberta cabinet minister.

She protested oil.....She is now premier......if Alberta elects her twice that would be insanity.

Polling ..... sheesh if their claim Hillary was a 94% shoe in to win the morning of the election doesn't tell you everything you need to know about them... Well there's only 1 poll that matters. That wasn't just wrong, it was a lie or their opinion to influence an election. Watch their track record on these next provincial elections coming up and see how close they are.... The establishment is getting rejected worldwide.

O88, what was her stand on the recent Keystone XL bullshit and the national carbon tax?

Notlye has sensibility when it comes to trying to create jobs and business opportunities. She may be an old school New Dem. But she also is piss poor at managing the provinces finances. She included revenue nfrom a pipeline that wont probably ever be built. Hence AB $70B deficit projection.

Yep, approval rating now of 41%, second in Canada only to Moe. She has been saying the right things lately, in response to trans mountain and oil industry. I'm not sure how much us show boating for the upcoming election and how much she has realized she was wrong before. The NDP catered to the wing nuts and had a few mainstream left wing folks help get them elected. I think they've realized that the wing nuts will never be happy and that everything they've done for that group has just moved the goal post further away and not appeased anyone. The shift is more to the left and middle crowd now. Personally I have a good memory of the first half of her crazy dictatorship of pushing through her agenda without consultation or regard for the people it affected and I like to hold grudges so will not give her my vote. If I just moved here and watched what's going on I might be more supportive. Jason Kenny is the conservative opposition, not sure if he is "likeable" enough to pull it off come election day.(same issue federally)

Big wheel, Alberta is not where it could be economically right now. NDP no question did some moves to hurt the economy in the name of environment, human rights, labour etc. Depends on your thinking whether the trade off was worth it or not. Not to offend other areas but Alberta has had many years of prosperity, not just from oil, has been lots of opportunities compared to the rest of the country. Still likely have an edge on most areas but that gap has narrowed. Biggest issue is that there is a whole generation that didn't have to work very hard and still made huge bucks. If they showed up to work at least some of the time they got paid and paid well because the employer had no choice. The environment now is when you apply for a job there are also others applying also so you may have to compete and perform in your position or boss man may replace you. Although most would think that is normal practice it has not been in Alberta since the 80s.

She loves the carbon tax....even brought one in ahead of time.l for Alberta.

Not sure about Notley and Keystone but from what I read Keystone should be under construction in 2019.....now that all toads, frogs, acquifers, tribes are on board. 🙈

(She Opposed Northern Gateway pipeline, seems to quietly support Kinder Morgan pipeline and has finally opposed Trudeau......federal NDP oppose.)

She started off just awful. All sorts of dumb greenish type ideas and frivalous spending. lately she seems to understand that there is a province to run and appears to be moving towards trying to keep Alberta moving ahead. Good leadership showing up in quite a few areas that would seem to put the province first and NDP ideas second. Fact she is hated by all other NDP parties is a great thing.

Doesn't really seem to matter who is in government. They all have to try there ideas and then realize it is not as easy to please everyone as it looked before they got into power. Eventually they also realize that if you give over here, you have to take from over there. Almost everyone ends up in the same rut after being in power for 6-10 years. There is no free lunch.

Once her pockets are full there is no use replacing her too soon, you just have to spend lots of money to fill the next guys pockets!

farma, she wants the pipeline built, to reap the taxes for her socialist ideals, but she hasn't stopped collecting the carbon tax.
