Dodging little mini blizzards all afternoon and got lucky to miss most of them. Canola swaths are down to about 12% now so hoping to keep missing the snow. Day before yesterday those swaths were over 14 and I am surprised how the moisture has come down when the temp is only a degree or two above freezing and no real sunshine.

Humidity must be low, 60 % at 2 degrees += 30% at +5C. Will freeze dry tonight at -8... dry tomorrow, cold will store just fine. Yes have missed the mini snow storms.

Bought a stripper head spring of 17 to pickup flat snowed on wheat. Didn't work, was taking the whole plant. In desiccated oats right now with it that still has green straw. Wow! can a guy fly with it. Probably double capacity of straight cutting, limited by gears in combine. Cart doesn't stop. Would be a nightmare in these conditions putting wet green straw through. Might have to torch it come spring but whatever... if it snows ill have a full profile

Great job! More than one way to get the job done. Here we’re putting everything into swathes so it can be dealt with next year easier. Slow and painful now from it all being flat on the mud but easier than next spring. Learned that lesson two years ago the hard way.

Give ‘er if you can. Nothing happening here but the cows, fixing, and fencing are burning all the time we got anyway. We’ve accepted that harvest will probably happen next year and if it doesn’t than it will be a pleasant surprise.
